roaming users problem

2000-10-19 Thread Ron Chan

Can anyone help?

We have vpopmail installed and running for the last
8 months with multiple domains and many roaming users

95% of the time it works fine - however, every now
and then, users get the "domain isn't in my allowed rcpthosts" message when they
send, if they press send again 2 or 3 times, it eventually goes

Theonly reason I can think is that the user
would connect to their isp, pick up email, write email offline, the connection
is automatically disconnected (either thru timeout or setting in the email
program), when they get back on to send they are assigned a new ip address -
hence they are no longerauthenticated to send mail

If this is so, does anyone know a way round
this?

Many thanks in advance
Ron

Re: yet another quota question...

2000-10-19 Thread Chris Scheller

The new quota code is in vpopmail-4.9.5 and it only counts
email files that contain the *S=XXX* format. It's the same
is this the format for new code, or current code?
either way, when i copied the archived mail over that is note the
format i wrote the messages in, i just used time.pid.mbox
i just wanted to get them moved over.

while on the subject of new code. other than the quota features i have
been reading about, are their any other reasons to upgrade my current
running version(ie; security reasons)?

vqsignup-0.3 first public release available

2000-10-19 Thread Ken Jones

The first public release of vqsignup-0.3 is availble at
http://www.inter7.com/vqsignup

vqsignup is a C based cgi program that enables people on the
internet to signup for email accounts on your qmail, vpopmail system.

It's the first public release, so it's not documented very well,
nor is it super easy to install. But it works for us ;]
