[vchkpw] Make install error for 5.3.8
I get the following error when I do a make install for vpopmail 5.3.8: mail# make install Making install in cdb rm -f libvpopmail.a ar cru libvpopmail.a vpopmail.o md5.o bigdir.o vauth.o file_lock.o vpalias.o seek.o cdb/*.o /usr/libexec/elf/ar: cdb/*.o: No such file or directory *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/local/src/mail/vpopmail-5.3.8. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/local/src/mail/vpopmail-5.3.8. I am running vpopmail version 5.2. Is seekable patch eabled in this realease?

Check the patch at http://www.interazioni.it/qmail. It checks if a domain has bounce enabled, then reject connections for not existing users. So you can do you what you want, but on a whole domain. [vchkpw] Qmail + Vpopmail + Mysql assistance
I am fairly new to Vpopmail. I am having some trouble getting it to work with Mysql authentication. I'm using Redhat 7.2. Prior to attempting this, I had Qmail working properly using the following steps. I started the basic RC file out of /var/qmail/boot/home and set it to start when the computer starts. Then, I configured Xinetd to have a SMTP file that invoked Qmail when SMTP requests came in. The mail was then delivered into the users home directory in a Mailbox file. This worked fine. I have now installed Vpopmail with MySQL support. Everything seems to work fine as for MySQL and VPOPMAIL talking. The part that is causing the problem is actually getting the incoming mail to vpopmail. I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish this. Can I simply modify the SMTP file in Xinetd? I had to install tcpserver or whatever it is called in order to get vpopmail working. It's installed, but I don't have the slightest idea how to make it work. So, in short, I need to know what to modify in order to get the mail delivering properly. Do I modify or remove the xinetd entry? Do I make any changes to the /var/qmail/rc file? Do I do something to tcpserver to make it monitor requests and pass them off accordingly? Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks,JM

I have Qmail and Vpopmail up and running, many thanks to this list! But I still have some remaining confusion over .qmail files and how they work with vpopmail. Under Native qmail I could create a .qmail-someuser file or use the alias mechanism to assign mail delivery for multiple addresses to a given real user, i.e. someone with an actual account on the server. How do I accomplish this under vpopmail? I would like to have address's like webmaster@ and info@ and abuse@ to all come to one user. The documentation I have been able to find is a little fuzzy on this score. hi my vpopmail is working fine and sqwebmail is also working very fine and read mail.but courier imap isnot authenticate the users through php and telnet 0 143 ready imap.. a1 login zafar@ zafar a1 nologin failed. and now no user can be login in the domain.and courier imap is not working properly. plz suggest me what i do to authenticate it. or i reinstall it. thanks with regards and wait for ur reply.
