[vchkpw] maildir++ patch doesn't solve the problem
I've installed : qmail-1.03 vpopmail-5.2 I set the quota through vpopmail: vsetuserquota [EMAIL PROTECTED] 500 But when i retreive messages using pop3 the quota is not updated, I tested it using: vuserinfo [EMAIL PROTECTED] I found in the vpopmail that there is a patch called qmail-maildir++.patch in the contrib directory under the vpopmail source directory to solve the problem. I copied this patch to the qmail source: cp vpopmail-5.2/contrib/qmail-maildir++.patch qmail-1.03 Then I patched it: cd qmail-1.03 patch qmail-maildir++.patch make make setup check Kindly, I need the answer to this problem urgently. Is there any other advices to let this patch work properly? _ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/featuredemail

[vchkpw] OT question
Hello guys I want to check if anyone has any suggestions on the mailing list scenario: Mailing list 1 ---users (one mailing list contains users) which all get emails however if I create a new mailing list and I add it to mailing list 1 the users from the mailing list 2 once I send a message to mailing list 1 they will not get messages. [vchkpw] new(?) qmail-smtpd patch
While looking for info on how to get more logging out of qmail-smtpd (auth failures), I found this on the qmail mailing list: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=qmailw=2r=1s=qmail-smtpd+logging+authq=b Looks interesting, but of course trying it out requires another round of patch massaging to make everything play together nicely... Re: [vchkpw] new(?) qmail-smtpd patch
This one's also interesting, it filters bad mime types, without needing to incur the overhead of a perl-based scanner (ie: qmail-scanner): http://www.fehcom.de/qmail/qmail.html (scroll to warlord) This guy's site is worth exploring, lots of neat stuff. If I setup pine to use this mail server for outgoing, it negotiates ssl and then prints smtp server has gone away, and there's a coredump (sig 10) on qmail-smtpd. Oddly, doing the same with Apple's mail.app (the only other MUA I have handy at the moment) works fine (using smtp-auth + tls). [vchkpw] vpopmail POP: ERR aac, chiled crashed after reboot, core dumped
I support an ISP remotely, which is running FreeBSD-4.2-RELEASE with vpopmail-4.9.6. I know they're old, but it would be very difficult to upgrade now due to the site's remoteness. The machine was recently rebooted and vpopmail's POP now crashes upon successful authentication (names changed for privacy, sorry): [EMAIL PROTECTED]104 telnet foo.example.net pop3 Trying 217.161.116.36... If you enter a bogus passwd, it gives auth fail msg, so auth is working: it only complains about child crash if I use the correct password. It's not doing anything fancy like MySQL, just authenticating from the vpasswd.cdb file. My system startup file is straight-forward: env - PATH=/var/qmail/bin:/usr/local/bin \ tcpserver 0 pop3 /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup foo.example.net \ /usr/local/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir If I execute the chain of commands from the command line, it works fine: foo# /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup foo.example.net \ /usr/local/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir +OK [EMAIL PROTECTED] user [EMAIL PROTECTED] +OK pass MyPass +OK list +OK 1 776 2 588 3 588 4 666 . /var/log/messages shows: Sep 15 04:27:58 foo /kernel: pid 32838 (vchkpw), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped) It also shows less frequently: Sep 15 04:22:50 foo /kernel: pid 32791 (vdelivermail), uid 89: exited on signal 11 (core dumped) Sure enough, the core file exists, in /usr/local/vpopmail/domains/email.zz: -rw--- 1 root vchkpw 339968 Sep 15 03:17 vchkpw.core At this point, I'm stuck, I don't know how to track down the problem. I naively try: foo# gdb /usr/local/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw vchkpw.core GNU gdb 4.18 Copyright 1998 Free Software Foundation, Inc. GDB is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under certain conditions. Type show copying to see the conditions. Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. Reading symbols from /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.2...(no debugging symbols found)... done. I didn't find anything relevant doing a Google which fits my situation. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm afraid I was told that some people replied to my msg.. but I MUST have missed it somehow and so I'm making this email again, in HOPE that I'll get help in this issue and not miss it this time around. I made /home/vpopmail/domains/.quotawarn.msg I placed this inside: From: Mail Delivery System [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Valued Customer:; Subject: Mail quota warning Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Your mailbox on the server is now more than 90% full. So that you can continue to receive mail you need to remove some messages from your mailbox. ~~~ I can't seem to understand why this message isn't arriving into the mailbox I made for testing that is now over 90% and standing on 93%. Can anyone give me a hand in figuring this out? Thanks in advance for ANY help on this issue. Cheers, Shai Paul Theodoropoulos http://www.anastrophe.com
