yes, it works just fine. i use the following script to do my 'moves':
#!/bin/sh
cd /u1/domains/2
if [ $# -ne 1 ]; then
echo \nUSAGE: migrator-2 domainname\n
exit 0
fi
DOMAIN=$1
chmod +t ${DOMAIN} \
mv ${DOMAIN} /u2/domains/2 \
ln -s /u2/domains/2/${DOMAIN} \
chmod -t ${DOMAIN}
