As long as the home directory is set before you run ./configure it works just fine in any directory. Are you aware that for many settings* in vpopmail you have to ./configure;make;make install for them to take effect, and after that you have to compile all the applications that use vpopmail again? Note: This is a feature not a bug. It runs faster that way, and for something that runs every time an email is received that is a good thing.
