Re: [vdr] Best DVB-S card
> For details: > http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/DVB-S_full-featured-Karten Thanks for the link but unfortunately my German is 'nicht so gut'. I've been looking at some budget DVB-S cards and they seem reasonably cheap now. I'll just have to take the sound card out to make room for another PCI card. Does anyone have a winTV-HVR-3000 or 4000? I'm slowly going to upgrade my VDR box so I might as well get as much future proofing as possible into it and the new box will eventually be powerful enough to not need the dxr3. [vdr] Best DVB-S card
Hi, I've been using VDR with a Hauppauge Nova-T and a DXR3 for a couple of years now and I have just moved into a house with a satellite dish installed. Can anyone recommend a DVB-S card to use? I've been looking at the Nexus-S because it is fully featured and I don't have any spare PCI slots left. With a FF card I could remove the DXR3. Are there any other FF DVB-S cards out there that would be good to buy? True, but as far as I'm aware, you can't access recordings and FFwd and Rwd etc... THanks for your reply. Ideally I'd like to be able to have the dxr3 working and xineliboutput simultaneously but the setup you have with xine would do for now. I don't know how to get xineliboutput to become the primary device and reconnect the dxr3 afterwards so I'll try xine on its own. Streamdev isn't quite what I want since you need a whole vdr install on the client as well. Thanks Glyn ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr
[vdr] Can xineliboutput and dxr3 coexist?
Hi, I've got VDR (1.4.3) running on a machine by my TV and have just been playing with the xineliboutput plugin to stream vdr over the network. Everything works well on its own but I'd like to be able to have someone watching TV on one channel via the dxr3 and someone else watching a recording on the network via xineliboutput. Is this possible? Currently, if I install the xineliboutput plugin then there is no longer any output to the TV via the dxr3. Thanks, that works fine what I'm doing is: 1) get some clip from the internet 2) transcode to mpeg2 3) use project x to get it into vdr format 4) copy resultant directory to the recordings directory on the vdr machine I had to do the transcode on another machine anyway in order to output through my dxr3 card. Thanks again Glyn ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr
[vdr] transcode any movie to vdr format
Hi, I've just started playing with VDR again for the first time since version 1.2 something. It has improved immensely, well done to everyone, especially Klaus. My question is, has anyone made a script for transcoding video files to the vdr format? The reason I ask is that if I can play files from the vdr format I can fast forward etc... using the remote. I haven't managed to get that working as well with the mplayer plugin. Thanks, Glyn ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr
