Re: [Veritas-bu] VxSS Problems
Search the registry for a key called USE_VXSS. Either delete the key or set it to = PROHIBITED From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu] On Behalf Of McDonald, James F. It seems to be preventing me from doing a lot of things. Does anyone know how to uninstall, stop or configure it, so that it plays nice? I have checked the web and tried various things, but nothing seems to get past it. [Veritas-bu] NBU and StorageTek
Does anyone have any experience configuring a StorageTek SL500 and the Linux version of NBU? I have the StorageTek connected to a Dell 2950, running RHEL 5.5 32-bit. It's connected via SCSI and the SCSI card is being recognized by the OS, so now it's just a matter of getting NBU to recognize the SL500. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for this type of setup? Re: [Veritas-bu] NBU and StorageTek
Can you see the changer with the command "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" If not, i am not sure about RHEL 5.5 but in 4 we used to follow the following steps: Add following line in /etc/modprobe.conf “options scsi_mod max_luns=255” “options scsi_mod scsi_noreportlun=1” Then create new initrd file….. cd /boot Rename initrd file e.g. mv initrd-2.6.9-42.EL.img initrd-2.6.9-42.EL.main mkinitrd initrd-`uname –r`.img `uname –r` e.g. mkinitrd initrd-2.6.9-42.EL.img 2.6.9-42.EL At the end REBOOT your Linux box. and again you have to re-scan. using first command cat /proc/scsi/scsi Thanks, Saran On Wed, Jun 15, 2011 at 7:11 AM, McDonald, James F. Re: [Veritas-bu] Boot Disk Not Working
I would create another CD myself. If it is stopping at the RAM disk, either the CD or drive on the Server could be bad. Also, try on another Server or PC as a test? As a part of our test, we created a boot disk. When we tried to test out the disk, we booted to the disk, but it gets stuck at the RAM Disk screen and never moves forward. We even tried letting it sit over the weekend, and it's stuck. Any ideas on what may be happening here? Any insight is appreciated. +-- |This was sent by agri...@csc.com via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to ab...@backupcentral.com. +-- ___ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu This email (including any attachments) may contain confidential and/or privileged information or information otherwise protected from disclosure.
