Hello all; I have configured netbackup air in my nb 7.1 unix servers. Everything is working as I aimed except duplication job is starting after 30 minutes backup job finished. Do you know any parameter to determine this? Why duplication job start after 30 minutes? Hello All; Netbackup couldn't backup C:\WINDOWS\system32\dns. I am specifying the C:\WINDOWS\system32\ as backup selection list, It backups all except dns. Do you have any idea? Hello all; We have three parts in netbackup catalog: image, configuration, relational database. Do you suggest to separate some of them into different file systems? /usr/openv is on different SAN file system from root file system. In addition to this, before nb installation, is it advisable to separate for instance images onto different file system? We have some SSD besides SAN. We are thinking to separate some parts of catalog to SSD? What would the best practice be? Hello All; Best practices Symantec recommends the following: ■ For a more efficient backup, the NetBackup media server should be installed on the same host as the Hyper-V server. In an off-host configuration, the NetBackup media server should be installed on the same host as the alternate client. In this configuration, the backup data can be sent to storage without traveling over the network. Is it still valid for my failover hyper-v servers using just one clustered shared volume (CSV)? Hello, However, hw contains same OS. I mean both os is Solaris 10. I will open a case to Symantec. In fact, I opened for moving the catalog from linux to solaris. They said moving operation is supported between any kind of unix type. It really worked in my test environment from linux to solaris. It is possible to send large amounts of data over the network without careful configuration, although in storage area network (SAN) environments network traffic may not be an issue. Hello, We have duplicated some tapes using catalog backup. After duplication, when we search the images from the original copy, It says skipping media id xx it has already two copies. What is the reason? Duplication process can expire the images on the primary copy? Hello All, I have a big SAN environment. We will replace 2 L700 with SL8500 on master server. Master server is solaris 10 on the server of M5000. I am aiming to do the following steps. Please make your comments on it. I would appreciate for your help. Regards, 1. Deactivate all policies 2. Run online catalog backup while there is no other jobs are running 3. Make all SAN zone definitions for the new library 4. Remove devices belonged to 2xL700 from NetBackup 5. Shutdown the server 6. Make the connections 7. Restart the server, check whether os sees the drives 8. Check sgscan whether the new sl8500 library changer and the drives gets detected 9. Make the device reconfiguration from the gui for master server 10. Make the device reconfiguration for all media servers which shares the drives in it 11. Activate the policies 12.
