[Veritas-bu] exchange backups fail status 112

2012-11-13 Thread Klebba, Don
I'm running Netbackup 7.1.0.4 on a windows 2008R2 master and media servers. I
recently created 4 new policies to back up our 28 exchange databases, each
policy has 7 databases. Last night policies 1 and 3 ran without any issues,
however policies 2 and 4 both failed with a status 112 (no files specified in
the file list(112). I can copy these databases out of policy 2 and 4 into a
manual policy that I use for one off backups and these databases run without
any issues. Does anyone know how to correct the status 112 errors?

[Veritas-bu] orphaned job

2012-11-08 Thread Klebba, Don
I have a windows 2008 R2 master server running Netbackup 7.1.01. I have 1 job
in the console that shows a status 50 (client process aborted), however the job
state is waiting for retry. I tried cancelling the job and it never dies. I've

We have no issues with GRT Sharepoint restores from OST (At least on 6.5.4 and

want to have non GRT backups as well if you want optimized offsite duplicates

Symantec, please give NBU GRT and SLP some interoperability, also while at it,

[Veritas-bu] disaster recovery best practices.

We're currently running Netbackup 5.1 MP4 on our Solaris Master server.

We're looking at replacing the server hardware and since the server
doesn't have enough local disk, we're going to present SAN space to the
sever.

We're looking at using SRDF to replicate the data on the SAN lun to a
remote site in the event of a disaster.

I was wondering what the best practice is forgetting data out to a
remote site. Should I just put the /netbackup/db/images on the San lun
and leave everything else on

Local disk, or should I install everything on the SAN.

We are looking at upgrading to 6.5 once the hardware replacement is
finished.

[Veritas-bu] Remote library

2007-08-07 Thread Klebba, Don
We're currently running NBU 5.1MP4. We have a L700 at our main location,
Solaris Master server, Solaris media server, and 5 Windows media
servers.

We have a SL500 at our remote location, Sun Media server, and 1 windows
media server. I was wondering how I go about setting up the library in
our

Remote location. Can I create the robot and drives on the Solaris media
server and share the drives with the Windows media server? In this
situation, does the master

Server at the main location Still keep track of the media in the remote
robot?

Thanks
