Re: [Veritas-bu] Any one upgrade to Veritas Netbackup 6.5.2 yet?
We have upgraded from 5.1.4 to 6.5 and then .2 and then .2.a I have never opened this many support requests with any softwhere vendor before. We still have two issues. Running a solaris 9x64 master media server. Policies at remote locations vanish. That is the directory in /usr/openv/netbackup/db/class/xxx is deleted. I'm grateful that the restore from tape function is still working rather well. The creation of a media server on Windows 2008 has yet to be successful. Permission errors caused the .2.a patch to fail, although the patch was not installed netbackup could detect the tape drives but could not create a storage unit on this remote media server. I had the domain admin reinstall the product and the patch. Now the tape drives are not visible to netbackup. Scott Deiter System Administrator Hanover Direct, Inc. I just love conflicting information. Although I trust the information provided by this list more than the staff at symantec the fact that the support staff has agreed to help with this issue and the pdf at http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/278064.htm called 278064.pdf leads me to believe that a Window 2008 x64 can be used as a media server at level 6.5.2. God bless poor Ed he can't stay on top of everything! My confidence level for a Solaris 9 64bit master working with a Windows 2008 media server is low despite the official Symantec support. Re: [Veritas-bu] Any one upgrade to Veritas Netbackup 6.5.2 yet?
Have you tried restoring this data? I just did a quick perusal of the data in preparation for a restore test and I can't seem to find the registry. Since this was a file level backup I would assume we're looking for: c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\system32\config\system But they are not there. I'm going to try a restore next after modifying the registry to make sure it is restored. -Jonathan -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Martin, Jonathan Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 9:25 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; VERITAS-BU@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Any one upgrade to Veritas Netbackup 6.5.2 yet?
