Re: [Veritas-bu] Is it possible to disable the option Cancel Alljobs in Netbackup Java Console.
Only thing I can say is use the remote admin console for windows ( not the java console) as it does NOT have that option on the right-click. -Original Message- From: Kurian K Oommen [mailto:ko.kur...@in.ibm.com] Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 10:28 PM To: Judy Hinchcliffe Cc: jlight...@water.com; veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Subject: RE: [Veritas-bu] Is it possible to disable the option Cancel Alljobs in Netbackup Java Console. What I always tell people is do NOT click Ok on the verification unless the option you want was still highlighted right before it came up. Re: [Veritas-bu] Is it possible to disable the option Cancel Alljobs in Netbackup Java Console.
That's also why I hate giving Activity Monitor access to some users because they can hit the wrong thing by accident. I am very eager to receive Aptare license and just keep people out of the GUI all together who don't need to be there -- not that I'm trying to be exclusive, but looking for better ways to provide them meaningful information without accidentally clicking on the wrong thing and blowing away queued jobs. -Original Message- From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu] On Behalf Of Jeff Lightner Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 12:15 PM To: Kurian K Oommen; veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Is it possible to disable the option Cancel Alljobs in Netbackup Java Console. Re: [Veritas-bu] Is it possible to disable the option Cancel Alljobs in Netbackup Java Console.
Because your method requires me to pull up each individual job and cancel each individually. Sometimes I'm highlighting a group of related jobs and canceling those. On a related note: If you're doing a series of related jobs (e.g. multiple streams and/or multiple copies) all started by one policy at the same time there's usually a master job that can be canceled or suspended that will pass on the cancel or suspend to all the rest of the related ones. We didn't realize it worked that way for a quite a while so got to see the most interesting messages on resuming or restarting.
