Re: [Veritas-bu] Restarting restore before expiration

2007-05-08 Thread Jeff Cleverley
When it hits a session that it has a problem with, the file counts do
not match. It doesn't tell me why. Usually it will give me some type
of media read/write/position error when this happens. I also get a
different error code when this occurs. This just says it is complete
restored x-2 of x files and that I need to restart it before the
expiration date. Because the file counts don't match up, I am expecting
that I am not getting all the data I should and cannot ignore the error
in this case.

It is quite frustrating :-)

Thanks,

Jeff

2007-05-08 Thread Jeff Cleverley
Tim,

I am restoring a directory to the same name with a ".restored" suffix.
That was not there when the restore was run. It did not have to do any
overwrites or anything else.

I forgot to mention that I also looked in the
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/error directory for the day and that log doesn't
show any indications of anything either.

Re: [Veritas-bu] Restarting restore before expiration

2007-05-08 Thread Conner, Neil
I got the same warning running a restore on 5.1 MP6 on Solaris 10. My restore
was successful (8207 files out of 8207 files successfully restored) but it
ended with status 1. I was restoring to a different location and the target
directory already existed so netbackup threw an error when it tried to create
the directory causing the status 1. I just ignored the warning.

Greetings,

I am running 5.1 mp2 on hpux 11.11. When I did a restore the other day,
it finished with a status code 1. The restore log showed no obvious
errors, nor did the bptm logs. When I looked at the job details from
the monitor window, it didn't show anything other than a warning that
the restore must be restarted before the image expiration date. I did
the restore 3 different times in different drives to see if it were a
media issue, but got the same results. What I've found on the web so
far doesn't seem quite right for this problem.

Does anyone know what else I can look for to see what it doesn't like?
This is the first time this has happened in the 6 years I've been using

Jeff,

What are you restoring (just a file?)? Are you restoring to the original
location?

Cheers,

Tim
