Re: [Veritas-bu] VXSS help required
Not entirely accurate; from 5.1 the code was modified so that “in most cases” fqdn was no longer required when defining ab’s and machine names. However when you use the unixpwd plugin it still requires that you use a fqdn when you define the domain that will be used for authentication. It is possible in some cases that this is not true but in this scenario there’s no dns, no fqdn’s in the /etc/hosts file… From: Abhishek Dhingra1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 28 July 2008 08:38 To: JC Cheney Cc: VERITAS-BU@mailman.eng.auburn.edu; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [Veritas-bu] VXSS help required From netbackup 5.1 and onwards without FQDN name is supported , i have tested it on the test environment. Re: [Veritas-bu] VXSS help required
Hi, Full and incremental jobs are supposed to reset the archive bit on files after they are backed up. With netbackup 6.0 for Samba Shares backup, once the backup is performed netbatckup does not reset the archive bit. This is impacting my daily differential incrementals because all the data gets backed up as if it were new files created. How can i resolve this issue? Do i need a patch? Or is it some configuration issue? I have set the default properties on the netbackup server of resetting archive bit in 300 sec's if not cleared. Also i have set incrementals to happen based on archive bit. The server is running veritas netbackup server version 6.0 on Windows 2003 server and the Samba share is from a Redhat Linux machine. Hi All, After configuring VXss, i added the user "root" in the NBU_Admin Group, but when i am logging in using the root login id on GUI , it only shows me "Restore, backup and Archive " panel.Does any one suggests what could be the issue. I am able to login using the login id with which i configured the VXSS.
