Re: [Veritas-bu] Veritas-bu Digest, Vol 4, Issue 108 - NBU 5 Course Notes

2006-08-24 Thread Jack . Thweatt
Having used test simulators for over 10 years, primarily Transcender, I
ordered the download of TestKing's DP-023W exam, the cert exam for the 5.x
Admin for Windows as it seemed the best product for such review. Big
mistake on my part. As advertised, the test comes with an interactive test
engine that provides Virtual and Practice exams and an Ipad Viewer of 89
questions and answers in text format. What I received for my $70 was a
test engine without any questions or answers, and an Ipad Viewer with
questions but without any answers. I have been unsuccessful in getting an
answer from TestKing as to when the blanks will be filled in and I've
basically been told that I've received what I ordered. I'm placing a stop
payment order and strongly recommend not using TestKing. As mentioned by
another subscriber, I will create my own notes / presentation(s) for review
and internal training.

Hi All

Since everyone is looking for these I will share something. The
organisation I work for is a training partner to Symantec education and
even we cannot get the course notes electronically. We receive the slides
and printed copies from Symantec but have a contract that says we will not
distribute the material as it would loose Symantec and their training
partners business.

Sorry.

2006-08-24 Thread Koster, Phil
I have a Safari Subscription and I could only find brief mentions of NetBackup
in a few books. I had the most hits on the below book.

Backup and Restore Practices for Sun Enterprise Servers
By: Stan Stringfellow, Miroslav Klivansky, and Michael Barto
Publisher: Prentice Hall PTR
Publish Date: 2000/08/30

I have a limited plan and no Sun servers so I didn't add it to my bookshelf so
I have no idea how rich the content is regarding NBU. Might be worth at least
a quick browse by some of you with Sun systems though.

2006-08-24 Thread Martin, Jonathan \(Contractor\)
There is (or used to be) a 30 question exam prep type of test on
Veritas' website that I took once and aced. Missed something like two
questions about SSO (which we don't run here.) Anyhow I got the
impression that the NBU 5.1 exam isn't very difficult to anyone already
running NBU in a day to day enterprise environment. Still haven't taken
the test yet. I'm sure a procrastinator! =)
