Re: FileMerge not found?

2009-04-30 Thread kiddailey

Aha!!

I posted about this back in December and had given up since nobody
replied, and eventually ended up resorting to BBEdit. Blah.

Your answer didn't address my issue directly, but the tip about how
Versions uses opendiff was the clue I needed. I had removed all of
the development tools and moved FileMerge into my regular /
Applications/Utilities folder.

All I needed to do was copy opendiff from the install DVD into my /usr/
bin. Running the "xcode-select" commands you mention wasn't at all
necessary to get it working in my case.

FYI - To get opendiff from the DVD without reinstalling everything
again:

1. Open the DVD and "View Package Contents" of the
"DeveloperTools.pkg" file in the packages folder.
2. Copy the "Archive.pax.gz" file to your hard disk and extract it.
3. Inside the finished "Archive" folder you'll find a /usr/bin folder
with opendiff inside.
4. Copy the opendiff app from there to your /usr/bin on your machine.
You may need to use the "Go To Folder" menu in the Finder's "Go" menu
to get to yours if you're not comfortable using the command-line.
5. You can also copy FileMerge from the /Developer/Applications/
Utilities folder if you need it again.

Those exact steps got FileMerge working for me again in Versions
without having to install the rest of the developer tools. YMMV of
course :) Thanks again!

Hi Yoav,

Please run the Console application (it's in /Applications/Utilities),
then launch Versions. Are you seeing any messages being written by
Versions to the console?

Thanks,

2009-04-30 Thread Yoav

Nope, no message at all.
I guess it is an OS X problem, not a versions one.
I just found out that skype is showing me XML instead of chat messages
Maybe it's a faulty rich text component.
Any idea where to look?

Re: HTML instead of the bookmarks file (on first load)

2009-04-30 Thread Dirk Stoop

This sounds like a problem with WebKit, which is the framework we use
to render HTML in Versions. A lot of Mac apps use this same framework
for similar purposes, so it wouldn't surprise me if Skype also needs
it to render chat messages.

When you use the Safari browser to view web pages, does that work
normally?

If it doesn't, this definitely is a problem with WebKit. I'm not sure
what the best way to fix this would be, besides reinstalling OS X.
One thing you could try is to get the latest Mac OS X Combo update
from Apple and run that.

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/

Make sure you get a "Combo" update and not a regular one.

There's a decent chance that installing that will replace the defunct
version of WebKit. If that doesn't help, my best suggestion would be
to reinstall OS X and choosing the "Archive and Install" option during
installation — that should leave all of your own stuff and installed
applications in the right place.

Good luck :)

Cheers,
- Dirk

Re: Versions 1.0.4 Beta (Subversion 1.6 support)

2009-04-30 Thread mzch

+1 @WalleniuM

I'm waiting for Japanese localization of Versions. I tried translation
into japanese by myself.
But I cannot absolutely translate some words and strings because there
are not those strings
in language nibs. if the developer relocate such words and strings in
language nibs,
I can start to translate Versions in Japanese right now!

Is it possible for the developer to be localizable Versions after
releasing 1.0.4?
