Re: Merge feature

2009-06-14 Thread echo

I bought and use Versions, and use Subcommander for svn merge + svn
switch. I guess I'll add my +1 on the chance it might help to
influence the developers, and add what I posted a year ago, expanding
on Ray's suggestion to share how we use our tools..

Our workflow uses developer branches, that we merge from a dev branch.
We then switch our working copy to the dev branch, merge remote dev
with second source of our branch (now remote), then merge that back to
remote dev branch, then switch our wc back to our branch.

In Subcommander, merge is from a contextual menu of a revision (or
span of revisions) from a log. switch is from a contextual menu from a
browse repository view.

Re: BBEdit 9.1 update + show diff

Huge essential feature for me too. I've posted to the BBEdit google
group, written BBEdit support and was writing here in hopes for a
debugging lead, as it seems to point to something with command line
diff. You could write BBEdit support too, to give it more weight.

BBEdit 9.1 update + show diff

2008-12-15 Thread echo

Since installing new command line tools with the BBEdit 9.1 update,
Versions no longer opens BBEdit to show differences, as it used to.

Specifically, repository view / Timeline / clicking on a modified file
path. I get the sheet "Getting list of changes" but no file comparison
windows open in BBEdit.

Seems this is about BBEdit (works with File Merge), but to debugging
this, it would be helpful to know if this happening, or not happening
for anyone else?

is svn merge, svn switch planned features?

2008-11-17 Thread echo

To help my purchasing decision, can the authors confirm if svn merge
and svn switch are planned features? Thanks.

Re: Another vote for branch/tag/merge

2008-10-25 Thread echo

Our workflow uses developer branches, that we merge from a dev branch.
We then switch our working copy to the dev branch, merge remote dev
with second source of our branch (now remote), then merge that back to
remote dev branch, then switch our wc back to our branch.

I use Subcommander http://subcommander.tigris.org/ (open source). It's
stable and does what I want, although very un Mac like and quirky UI.
I stick to v.1.3.0 even though they say beta2 is better, it definitely
lacks essential functionality.

In Subcommander, "merge" is from a contextual menu of a revision (or
span of revisions) from a log. When the merge dialog is accessed from
a log, the revsion #s are filled in to some extent. "switch" is from a
contextual menu from a browse repository view.

I *really* hope that Versions can replace this functionality. I'm
disappointed the beta is moving closer to final with seemingly no new
features lke merge being added.
