I wouldn't ever count on new suggestions being in the next release. Features take time to develop and perfect. I think it would be nice, just as a way to check your own progress (and keep you from drifting too far out before committing or making a tag) if you were to badge the dock icon with the number of files in the currently active project with modifications.
