Versions has become unusable

I am running Versions 1.0.5 under SL and every time I launch it now, I  
see this:

It completely swamps both cores between Versions and other spawned  
processes.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

You're not the only one. My fans are going crazy on a normally  
completely silent machine.
