Now Jimmy, how are all those guv'ment bail-out programs supposed to work
unless good folk like you cough up half your hard-earned dollars? I mean,
how's a rich exec. or dead-beat supposed to get by these days unless you
contribute?
OTOH, it'll be good to have your undivided attention here from now on. We
won't be paying you (just to keep the IRS off your back), but we DO expect
you to keep this list lively, entertaining, technically enlightening, on
track, well policed, monitored, current, and generally a great place for
Buggs and Dr. D to hang out.

Morning Gang.
In case you haven't noticed, I've been pretty much 'hit or miss' with
the QFTD and
JFTD lately. My editor job with Texas Fish Game magazine has grown to
the
point that I really don't have time to look up new fly fishing quotes
and new jokes.
Also, I have not been able to work on my second Moon Holler Misfits outdoor
humor book. My publisher is just about ready to give me the boot! Most
of the
100 + of you who bought my first book are pissed at me too, especially
Mr. Fish!
To keep Allan at bay, I send him a new chapter now and then. :-P
So . . . What to do? I'm resigning my fishing editor job and my last
column will be
the July Issue of Texas Fish Game Magazine. The real clincher in my
decision
came when I did my independant contractor stuff for my 2008 taxes. I
had to
pay the IRS for the first time in ten years, all because of my editor
job. To make
a long story short, Uncle Sam got just about half of my TFG pay for
2008. It's
just not worth it for me to continue. However, I will still do spot
jobs for TFG,
so my foot is still in the door.
Now, I'll have the time to finish Moon Holler II. I'vebeen promising
all of you
who bought my first book that I would GIT-ER-DONE for the last four years.
Now, I have no excuse for not doing it, so.
