The food dye is very color fast.

Dyed using straight vinegar and heated in microwave. Feathers were pre rinsed 
with hot water and liquid dish detergent. I let them soak for about 1/2 hour 
and then rinse before putting in the dye.

The one on the left was done with blue food coloring.
 
The one on the right was done with the blue food coloring (not quite as
darkly) and then over dyed with Vienards flouresent pink (used small amount
of pink dye). - Still wet and should look better when dry.
 
The blue is  -  Liquid Blue Food Color  by Dawn Food Products Canada Ltd.

Nice colours.

I've seen a few posts saying food dye now a chance to ask the questions I've
been wondering.
How colour fast is food dye? I take it that dying is just the same as
feather/dylon dye.
