[videoblogging] setting a preview image - why so difficult in viddler?
I am trying to set a preview image in Viddler. It's not easy. When I upload a video, Viddler auto sets an image, usually a frame that is 5 to 6 seconds into the video. Setting a new preview image does not seem to work. I have repeatedly clicked on the "+" icon and then "set thumbnail." But the change never shows in the Viddler player on the web page. Is there a trick that I can do in iMovie to avoid the problem on Viddler? is there a work around in Viddler? I've looked around and have not seen much written on the topic. What are the technical reasons for why this is an issue? is this issue true across most hosted video sites? Still pretty new to video editing and the tricks to making it just right. Thanks. Alex. [videoblogging] Easy code generator for High Quality YouTube embeds
I've created a tool which generates the right HTML code to embed High Quality YouTube videos. Instead of you having to fiddle around altering the code yourselves with the code I posted here last night. Most people I've told today seem pretty indifferent - but it makes a phenomenal difference to the quality of the video. If you play the two versions of Epic FU I've embedded on http:// twittervlog.tumblr.com/ together, you can see that difference for yourselves, especially in shots of Zadi in the studio. The colours and resolution are better than you get with a Blip flash player. And you get to use YouTube without sacrificing quality. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and giggles. I do agree that the visual effect I want, could be obtained using the Show In The Box video related plugins... if I could get them to work. Ever since I upgraded WordPress 2.1, video Archive, Related and Recent video plugins are pouched and not functional on my site. It's been several disappointing months, with countless suggested fixes, but in the end I can not get them to work. An example... okay, try this one: www.partybabe.net . It has the basic idea with lots of video thumbnails.
