[videoblogging] Some Triptych Templates

2008-07-29 Thread Adrian Miles
hi all

I have just made three triptych templates for those interested in
experimenting a bit. Each is a QuickTime movie that loads other movies
via an associated XML file. You can download the template and
customise the content to display the video that you wish (as long as
it is QT compatible). They are designed for 320 x 240 video, and the
third one also provides for a soundtrack.

The first one just plays video, no control.
The second one adds controllers for all three videos.
The third retains the controllers and allows for a soundtrack which
cannot not be stopped.
They all loop continuously.

There are more on the way but not for a few weeks.

http://vogmae.net.au/drupal/doing/triptych1
http://vogmae.net.au/drupal/doing/triptych2
http://vogmae.net.au/drupal/doing/triptych3

have fun, and errors and problems just email me, they've been done in
a bit of a rush so I might well have overlooked some things

cheers

anything that is a text editor rather than a word processor. On OS X
it's hard to go past TextWrangler
(http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/
) but I'll have to defer to others on PC to suggest preferred text
editors.

(a word procesor is not about editing text files but making documents
for pages so will insert hard breaks and how knows what else, and of
course will want to save it in some sort of format rather than just
text.)

i'd be interested in who else out there is dealing with green issues as a

We are not all green all the time but we do have green/environmental topics
from time to time.
Mefeedia has a green channel:
http://www.mefeedia.com/channels/green/

Speaking of which, Frank - if I tag episodes of Beach Walks which we usually
categorize under travel, will the green channel pick them up? What can I do
to connect there when it is relevant? Our shows just cover so much
territory - hard to know where to put us most days, so we default to the
pretty scenery. :-)

[videoblogging] Re: who are the Green Video Bloggers?

2008-07-29 Thread Frank Sinton
Hi Rox,

Thanks for the link - that Green Channels is one of our most popular!

Good question Right now, the Channels are meant to be a Guide to
Feeds, with each channel focusing on feeds dedicated to that subject
(BTW - yes, we are changing the name back from "shows" to feeds" soon!).

We've talked about also adding a tag to a channel in the past, and I
think that is what you are suggesting? That is a good idea. We may be
able to pick that one back up, as it just makes a ton of sense.

Regards,
Frank

Re: [videoblogging] Re: who are the Green Video Bloggers?

2008-07-29 Thread Roxanne Darling
Thanks Frank - I realize most shows/feeds are single topic. Ours is all over
the map of life. Makes it hard for us to play with others, so some sort of a
tagging system that would recognize related individual episodes without
making people suffer thru the ones they are not interested in...yes that
would help us. :-)
And since our show functions as an end result to help people have less
stress and feel better, what kind of channel would we call that? "Don't
Worry, Be Happy?" Other shows that are light-hearted, open-hearted would
fit as well, so that we are addressing the tone more than the content???

To be continued - and as usual, you are right on it. Thank you - and hope to
see you in Vegas at NME.

Aloha,

Rox

Depending on what you mean by "available for download", host your
files on http://blip.tv and embed the direct links on your site pages
so people can download each format, mp4, Apple TV, iPod, 3gp, whatever.

If you mean available for people to PAY YOU TO DOWNLOAD, you need a
different solution. :)
