[videoblogging] Re: hi guys

2005-11-19 Thread Irish Hermit

I've had good luck with the chroma fabric from this store: J and K Video GroupTomás--- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, "Paul Knight" [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I wish to utilize my capability of doing croma (green screen) special effects. However I wondered what is the best shade of green paint to use, sounds like a stupid question, but just looked at dulux, crown and johnson's catologues and there are literally hundreds of shades to choose from. Any help would be hot. Love to all Paul

[videoblogging] Testing Google to Yahoo, part deux

2005-10-27 Thread Irish Hermit
It appears that if you post to this group in Google, it does not show
up in Yahoo. I'm going to create a poll to ask folks if they read
this group through Google or Yahoo. Just curious.

All the best,
Tom

[videoblogging] Poll: how do you READ and POST to this group?

2005-10-27 Thread Irish Hermit
I've created two polls asking folks what is their primary way of
READING and POSTING to the group. The reason I'm curious is because
I read the group mostly through Google, but POST through Yahoo. I
find Google's layout and format makes it easier to follow the threads
than Yahoos.

If I'm correct in my thinking, those who read through email and online
at Yahoo will never see a post made through Google.

Please take a moment at look at the two polls.

Thanks,
Tomás

[videoblogging] Re: Public Eye - West Coast RocketBoom Clone

2005-10-26 Thread Irish Hermit
A few thoughts about this thread:

1. Public eye just started. Give 'em a break before you start
calling
them a clone of anyone. There's too much of a hipper than thou
attitude here.

2. Vlogs are nothing more than homemade television on the internet.
Get over it folks. I've been around too long to think of it as
nothing more than another installment in a long line of the next
great thing that will change how we all communicate. Email and
webpages with hypertext were monumental changes. Blogs and vlogs
are
just adding an already existing technology to webpages. Laptops
will
replace the cumbersome television console in the middle of the
living
room. Ipods and other small players will become the Dick Tracy
writstwatch tv's we've been waiting for. But at the end of the day
it's still television.

3. To those who say the difference here is that no one can tell us
what to say: That's not true. There are plenty of laws on libel,
slander, pornography, national defence, and copyright that limit
what
you can say on your vlog. Most ISP have limits in their terms of
service on things like hate speech. You can't do anything you
want.

All the best,
Tomás

[videoblogging] Re: Men are pigs.....so what will that mean for women vloggers

2005-10-16 Thread Irish Hermit

There's not that many (ratio-wise) female vloggers out there right
now; and though personally I am comfy with posting my videos right
now, I hope that never changes.

I too hope it doesn't change for you. I also hope that vlogging
doesn't suffer the same fate as Cuseeme did eight years ago. For
those of you who don't remember it, Cuseeme was a video conferencing
software program that allowed users to log into a server to view and
chat with others. In very short time the public servers were full of
guys exposing themselves. These were known as crotch cams. Any
women who logged in was quickly flooded with propositions and requests
to show her boobs. After going through a few different owners it,
along with webcams, is now a minor player in internet video.

All the best,
Irish Hermit
