[videoblogging] Re: YouTube versus Blip.TV quality
Too bad Blip does not support embedding true 720P HD in H.264 format. I love the way Youtube handles it in all aspects, playback/embedding etc. Though Blip claims it does support it, it is not really possible to embed this format unless viewed in Quicktime browser plugin without playback controls. Am I the only one to notice that or can anyone second that? Is there a feature by feature comparison available anywhere broader than the one on Wikipedia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_video_services The entry is very useful but maybe there are a few columns of interest missing such as posting to off site urls, aggregation options, channel players, RSS feeds, etc. On regard to sites, I've just gone back using the Miro player -- the old Democracy Player on my desktop -- http://www.getmiro.com/ and the visual experience is excellent.Top quality tv. As well, the platform isn't as clunky as it was a few years back. It still has a great access & open philosophy to its services. So if you are touting your feed don't forget Miro. dave riley

Hey Chad! You might take a look at this page for YouTube - http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=132460&topic=16612&hl=en-US It's what they recommend you upload for the best quality... something to try, anyway! [videoblogging] Re: YouTube versus Blip.TV quality
Just to test, I uploaded and FLV file to YouTube. Here's the version that YouTube rendered http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv4YbxYHJM0 and here is the version that I uploaded as an FLV to YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CR-Ra4eAcw . You can fast forward to the middle part of each video to compare the clarity of the screencasts. I guess when doing screencasting with YouTuve, it pays to convert to FLV locally before uploading to YouTube. Just so you know, I converted the original 640x480 mp4 to FLV 640x480 with the free Quick Media Converter software. I used the easy settings on QMC. For the sake of comparison, I also uploaded an FLV version to Blip. The FLV is here http://bizresearchbasics.blip.tv/file/2496646/ and the original is at http://bizresearchbasics.blip.tv/file/2493638/ . I can't tell a difference between the two, so Blip evidently handles the screencasts better with the native files than YouTube. --Chad On Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 9:11 AM, Chad Boeninger wrote: > Hello all, > I uploaded the identical 640x480 mp4 file to both Blip and Youtube.
