[videoblogging] Re: iTunes xml tags

2005-12-22 Thread Rob Parrish
Hey Ron:

I think Apple might be having an issue. My art and info appeared this
a.m. . . . but now its gone. I did post a review during that brief
wonderful moment that I existed in the eyes of iTunes, maybe Steve
Jobs didn't like it. :-) (for the record, I identified myself as the
site's author in the review -- speaking of which, the review was
simply selected quotes from comments left on the site. I identified
them as comments, but did not reveal the authors. I assume its ok to
use comments for publicity. What says the group?)

I still can't seem to get any album art up on iTunes, and I still

 monitoring this list?

I WOULD LIKE TO PUT UP SOME ALBUM ART!
I WOULD LIKE TO BE NOTICED BY YOUR SEARCH FUNCTION.
 Thanks for the links, wwwhatsup.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but, according to
  apple:

You can also ping the iTunes server to update your podcast
information by entering the following URL into a browser:

  https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?
  id=FEEDID

where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use:

  https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?
  feedURL=http://FEEDURL

where FEEDURL is the url for your feed.

Regardless of the ping method you use, iTunes will return an HTTP
  200 code.

I did it a few days ago, but it has not been updated in iTunes. I
am kind of bummed about that.

Something is not allowing my feed to be searched for. I have to
manually browse to the show. It kind of sucks. I hope it works
  itself out...

Thanks Steve, Ron, Harold!

I'd glad I didn't need to write code. Thoes feedburner folks . . . I
like them.

 Rob,

Blogger's not going to help you at all with this; FeedBurner will likely
make the appropriate changes to their service (if they need to make
any) in
order to make your feed play well with iTunes.

I'm trying to get my feed up to speed with iTune's demands. This is
probably a dumb question, but here it goes. So, Apple wants a bunch
of tags inserted into the feed. Do I do that through Blogger,
Feedburner, (I don't see a way that these deplay the code of the feed)
or do I need to open the atom file that is on my web server and add
the tags there? If I do the last option, will that mess up the auto
updating functionality of the feed? Will the tags survive the next
time a do a post? Thanks for the help.
