Dear Matt,

When you were at the University of Virginia your library purchased our
latest two films THE REVOLUTIONARY www.revolutionarymovie.com and HONOR
& SACRIFICE www.honordoc.com. Both films would be appropriate for high
school use. HONOR & SACRIFICE, which was recently awarded the Erik
Barnouw Award from the Organization of American Historians has a 35-page
curriculum designed for high school students which is free and
downloadable from our website http://honordoc.com/teach.html. Both films
are also available for streaming through Kanopy.

Best,

Dear Friends,

As some of you may know, I recently left the University of Virginia
for a new gig as library director at Pace Academy in Atlanta.
Although my focus is now on middle-schoolers and high-schoolers, I'm
still committed to media and interested in bringing a new media
emphasis to our school. As I'm getting settled in, if anyone has any
resources they can direct me to, or tips for incorporating media into
school libraries, please pass them along. To get the conversataion
started, is anyone using Kanopy or some other hosting platform?

Cheers,

Matt

It's a very handy thing to have as you plan your audiovisual archive
projects.

Thanks, Chris! I just want to add that this is AMIA's first Supplier
Directory -- the organization is constantly trying to figure out how best
to serve the community and this directory came from those efforts. The list
of suppliers will keep getting larger and larger as people hear about it.
(Milestone can't be in it since I'm on the Board until November and I have
my ethics -- as does AMIA.)

AMIA also has the free listserv for specific questions like, "Where is
there a film or video lab that does 8mm in my area?" and they have a
professional office in Los Angeles where they can answer questions. It's
worth becoming a member!

Thanks Jeff. Do you have any information on Kanopy that you can send me,
besides what's on their own website? Also, what's the difference between
Kanopy and Docuseek2?

Cheers,

Matt
