[VIHUELA] Re: Hertzberg Guitar Book
Here I am! :) I have not seen the manuscript since I wrote the entry on Henning henninho Holen's webpage. Henning and I have played a few of the pieces from the book as guitar and continuo duets. The manuscript has many correspondences with the Charlotte Amalie's guitar books in Copenhagen, so there might have been a Danish-Norwegian standard guitar repertoire. Henning is a lurker on this list and knows the book better than me, so he should be able to tell you more. (Da tar du over herfra, Henning.) Are Hertzbook Guitar Book I have a few queries about this manuscript which was mentioned some time ago when Are Hansen posted information about it on-line at http://folk.uio.no/henninho/Gitar.html It is now in the National Library of Norway - Mus. Ms.a 5038 and the catalogue entry includes a digital reproduction. I wondered if anyone had actually seen the manuscript itself - it appears to have a beautifully embroidered front cover. Does anyone know Are Hansen or have a contact e-mail for him. Has he or anyone else published anything about the ms.more recently? The Library have attributed it to Nils Hertzberg and dated it 1829-30 but I would imagine that it was copied earlier. I know some of the pieces are arrangements of pieces by Lully but has anyone identified any of the other pieces... Any information would be much appreciated. [VIHUELA] Re: de Visee Chaconne in a minor to the guitar?
It has also been recorded by Rafael Andia. But I don't really like the recording... mvh Are Dear Arto There is a guitar version of this chaconne - in D minor - in the huge manuscript F.Pn Res. F. 844. It is on p.237. Someone - Stuart I think - pointed out that you can download an image of the whole of this ms. from the Bib. Nat. site.
