The only issue is the great cultural divide between the old-school
internet users who use mailinglists, and the web generation who find
forums more natural.  I tend to a) ignroe forums and b) not participate
in projects where forums are the main community, but that shows just how
old-fashioneed I am.

As long as you're talking about adding a forum and not changing th
mailinglist, it seems fine.  Perhaps the forum welcome text should point
to the mailinglist.
