They made special devices to go on a string of cables, one at the front and one at the back. I have an extra one here, should I use it ? Make sure it's a SCSI ZIP drive and not a parallel ZIP drive... By the original description, I'm guessing the Mac end is probably HD-50? Are you sure it's a SCSI zip and not a parallel port zip for a PC? the male /female db 25 is for parallel port ZIP drives. (i.e. PC type) probably will not work if plugged into the Q 610. did you check the pictures sent from Wesley Furr notice the difference between parallel and scsi drives. only the scsi drive will work pugged into the scsi port on the Q 610. the cable will be a male/male db25. if any other type of connectors, the zip drive will not work without some type of adapter if ever.. dale - Original Message - From: Doug xenis...@telus.net To: vintage-macs@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, March 21, 2011 8:50 PM Subject: RE: I need a cable. Pc ZIP drives on a mac will cause the drive or mac to go boom. If the back of the zip drive does NOT have a setting for termination/id and if the back of the zip says PC over one of the ports, DO NOT USE.
