FREE: Apple LaserWriter II M6000

2013-08-08 Thread markjenn
Was in good working condition when put back in original box about 15 years
ago. Have manuals, cables, etc. Free to good home. Probably uneconomical
to ship, but will if you pick up shipping costs.

2013-08-08 Thread Dodger Emmons
Hi,

I have an SE/30 with stripe patterns that will not boot. I think it may be the
capacitors, but I is there anything else to look for?

Re: SE/30 With Stripe Patterns

2013-08-08 Thread Hardware Mack
have a look and see if the caps have leaked their goo.
You could try washing the board in the kitchen sink, hot water lots of
soap, use a tooth brush to get in the tight spots then rinse, then take it
over to the air compressor and blast all the water off it really good, get
under all the ic's and pds slot etc.

then if you want to re-cap it, you can.
here is a good website to start at maccaps.com, its my site.

Just had the problem of alternating horizontal black and white stripes on an
SE/30.

Thought is was the analogue board. My temporary solution for me was to remove
the logic board remove all SIMMs and ROM and clean with alcohol (toothbrush and
q-tips)  especially around the caps. Then clean all contacts with contact
cleaner.  And a soft eraser (the white one) if the contacts did not look clean.
Then I blew out the analogue board and power supply with compressed air; then
reassemble.

Now Volia! It boots like a champ.  But yeah, the caps need to be replaced.
