Retr0brite???

2014-03-16 Thread Peter Hall
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had experiences using retr0brite on any cases
here, I want to clean up my IIgs, IIci, an SE, and various mice and kb's
but I don't want to kill the cases in the process. Just wondering if
anyone has tried and what their experiences were.

I would love some info too, as I found a RLL card in a IIgs I got some
years ago, and would like to see if I could use it as well.

some external Drives for macs?

I am interested if I can reconfigure it to read an actual ST-506 5mb
RLL
Drive ?

I found a working 20mb Dataframe 20 with this card in it.

Re: Macintosh Portable start-up problem

2013-04-01 Thread Peter Hall
I had one, never had any luck with any other power adapters, and you MUST
use lead acid batts which require a different charging circuit, you may
have burned out your adapter, good luck mine was temperamental as all

I picked up a Macintosh Portable as part of a lot of used Macs awhile
back. When I connect the power adapter from my PowerBook 165 (they're
supposed to be compatible, right?), it seemed to be trying to start up
but then it died. Now it won't do anything. I left it plugged in for
awhile to charge up the battery but still nothing. Is it possible I
just need a new battery? If so, where would I be able to get one, and
how much do they cost? Otherwise what is the thing worth for parts? It
looks to be in decent shape though there is a chip in the outer casing
about 1 long at one point and it has slight yellowing. But the screen
is good and it's pretty together.
