Wanted! Ads for the SE

2001-11-01 Thread Jens Hofman Hansen

I am building up a comprehensive site about the Macintosh SE and still miss
promotional material about it. I have trawled through the internet and I
haven't found much.

I am now asking you guys on this list to help me. If you have an old ad for
the Macintosh SE in a magazine, I would really appreciate a scan of it. I
am looking for ads from Apple as well as ads from vendors. The scans should
preferably be in 300 dpi or more, so the quality will be as high as
possible. Posters or leaflets is of my high interest as well.

Please help me by contributing to this project and contributing to
preserving the history of the Macintosh SE. Many sites about Macintosh
around the net consist of material found on the net. With your help, this
site will contain a lot of new material, which is never seen on the net.
You will of course be credited for your scans on the site.

Send scans off-list to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Best wishes,
Jens Hofman Hansen

projection pad

2001-11-01 Thread hart

Hello! I just bought a used projection pad in original box
with most of the documentation. It is made for the Plus and
SE.

(1) On one end, the cable has nine pins in two rows. This end
connects to the projection pad itself, and is missing one pin.
Is that o.k.? Does that just slow down data transmission, or
do I need a new cable?
(2) The other end looks like a MIDI cable, but with eight pins.
The two sets of instructions included were in French and
Italian, but looking at the diagrams, it looks like there
should be a jack on the back side of Pluses and SEs for this
round connection. I have one Plus and one SE, and neither one
has this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Claire

I have a Mac2ci running os 7.5.3 that i am trying to connect a scsi2
external drive to. The problem is that the Mac tries to boot from the (non
bootable) external drive. How do i get the Mac to recognise the drive and
boot from the internal harddisk?

Thanks;

and/or Norton utilities 3.1? The se/30 runs system 7.1 and the performa 630
runs 7.5. I don't know anything about these two programs except that they
are for sale on ebay and might or might not be usefull..

 Regards Steve

Norton, but use v3.2 instead if you can find it.

Don't let the external be drive 6. Make sure the internal is drive zero.
Open the Startup Disk control panel and click once on the Internal drive's
Icon, then restart.

Boot from a floppy. Make the internal drive the startup drive.

I thought so. So system 7.5.5 is it for me unless
 SystemSwitcher
works to switch Systems 7.1 and 8.1. I'll be
 finding that out.

You'd have to switch to 030 mode before using 7.1.
