I thought of MacDrivers.com. If you visit Bhavesh Patel's domain
the drivers you find might help uncover more cards.

List of NuBus SCSI cards?

2004-03-18 Thread Gregg Eshelman
Is there a list somewhere of all the NuBus SCSI cards
that were made?

So far, the only ones I've heard of are the ATTO SE
IV,
the ATTO SE 4D (differential SCSI) and the Jackhammer
(produced by FWB and probably a couple other
companies).

I'm especially interested in one that is NOT
busmastering or one that busmastering can be disabled
on.

AFAIK all LC Ethernet cards work with the Apple driver as they all
have basically the same hardware.

Some cards made for the original LC or LC II won't work in later
models. They will function up to a point. Specifically the LC
Ethernet card I was using would let me select it and it would see the
zones but when I closed the AT control panel it would crash.

Most LC PDS cards only fit the original connector.

With the above exception concerning some cards and the LC / LC II it
doesn't much matter which machine you use.

PowerBook (OSX) to Mac IIci sharing problems.

2004-03-18 Thread John Niven
I'm running OS 10.2.6 on a 12" G4 PowerBook (which is highly OT :-) but
I'm trying to share files with a Mac IIci (which is highly OnT :-).

The IIci is running OS 7.1 with Open Transport 1.1.2 added. It has an
Apple AAUI NuBus ethernet card and an Apple "dongle" to connect to
RJ-45 and the office network. Works fine and I can Web Surf.

Via the chooser I can connect to my PowerBook and transfer files back
and forth. However, if I try to "Connect to server" from the PowerBook
to the IIci, i get a login box, enter my password, get a select which
disk box (the IIci has two partions on it's HD), but then the selected
drive does NOT appear on my desktop!

I can ping the IIci and FTP files from it. What am I missing for files
sharing?

John

My A1200 is the 'other 68k' in my life. I'm currently upgrading it

I don't think it will read "any" disk without allot of programming. Its
generally a disk copying card.
Why not go and read Individual Computing's descriptions for the
CatWeasel 3 (down the bottom of that list)? It reads A frightening
array of different floppies. Yes that includes Mac 800k and 400 k
disks. What is more it works in a PC as a PCI card. you do have to use
the supplied software to use it but hey, it's better than a slap in the
face with a wet fish, right?

Long Live the Amiga!
