It you're working with Sys 7.0 - yes!!!

LOL. One of my earliest experiences with a Mac - a IIci in the fall of
'90... "loaded" w/8MB Ram and a whoppping 240MB HD. Anyways, I'm getting
familiar with it and all a few days after purchase when, all of a sudden,
files start dissapearing from the list view (!). Seriously - I forget the
details now, but it was along the lines of resorting in list view and
 - seeing files disappearing. Horror!!!

Seems to have been a "bug" in Sys 7.0. 7.0.1 fixed it. Phew... and yes.
all my files were intact.

But hey, it's your call. Sure would be pretty in that shrink-wrap and all
;-)

Heh. I think the pickle explained it more clearly, but I'll try again.

1. Get Stuffit or Compact Pro.
2. Set preferences to save in segments of 1.2MB (to be safe; and assuming
you're using 1.3MB/1.4MB floppies)
- note that you don't *have* to compress anything; it'll just save you
some floppies if you do.
3. Select file
4. Save to disk(s)

You'll be promted to insert floppies until it's all done.

5. Insert 1st floppie in other computer and expand the file onto the other
drive. You'll be prompted to insert the appropriate floppies until it's
all done. **Keep them in order** unless they're clearly labelled.

Again, the size of the file wil give you a good indication of the best
/most efficient method fo rthe transfer. So how big is it? You might not
want to do this with a 20MB file...;-)

Why don't you save the file as a compressed segmented archive? Save the
segments to floppies, then extract onto the other drive?

I used to be a fan of this idea until it was pointed out to me that the

Ouch!!!

Do not buy these. That's an outrageous price. Check out the swap list. A
guy by the name of Lizard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> sells matched sets of four (4)
16MB SIMMS for appx $30. I bought two sets and they've worked fine.

Next, if you're talking a IIci (bless you - it was my "first", and I still
have it), you can go with a 16MB in each slot (!). 16 * 8 = 128MB.

Happy computing!

You might want to contact Mike Ripca <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. He's often selling
exactly this on the LEM Swap List. $30 for a matched set of 4 IIRC.

I got two sets a while back. My IIci loves 'em -)

The problem is that the PC monitor is multiscan. If it weren't, and

Not quite. My "stock" IIci from '91 had 7.0 (!) - quickly upgraded - and
