Re: Please be careful not to quote *too much* of the original message

2002-03-25 Thread Patrick Austin

It's an observation, not a problem.

There are three lines of advertising which is ok, but eight lines of
information that could be condensed to a url on a web page.

Most of the messages posted here are six to ten lines long and the tag is 20
lines long.

Another observation.

Because that pays for the lists, that's why.

I'm not quite sure why this needed to be posted to the list; a private
message to Dan would have been more than sufficient and wouldn't have
bothered the rest of us with your problem.

Please be careful not to quote *too much* of the original message

2002-03-25 Thread Patrick Austin

Why not get rid of the tag at the bottom of each message?

I am on several lists and that is by far the biggest tag I have ever seen.

Why not have a web address with all that info anyway?

This is a semi-automatic message from Dan, the listmom.

Thanks for posting to the list.

Please be careful not to quote *too much* of the original message (your
recent posting is quoted below) when replying to the list -- especially
the header and/or footer. (You're not being singled out; we send this to
everyone who does that.)

Thanks!

Hello All,
Someone recently gave me a MicroTek E3 Scanner. I went to
MicroTek's website & downloaded both the Mac & Windozer drivers for
it.
It seems to be working fine as a single SCSI device. Since it only
has 1 Centronix connector, obviously I'd need to either make it the
last device on a chain with a Centronix pass-through terminator or,
come up with a Centronix-50 "Y" splitter. I've got several of the
Centronix dummy plug terminators. But, I don't have a Centronix
pass-through terminator.

What I am wondering about though, it has a Centronix-50 SCSI
connector on the back, which is what I used to connect it. It also
has DB-15 & DB-25 connectors on the back. Does anyone have one of
these puppies and/or does anyone know what the DB-15 & DB-25
connectors are for? Maybe ThickNet ethernet & Pee Cee serial or
parallel ports?

Iechyd Da,
Andrew

It was one of those monitors that would rotate so you could have a
portrait monitor or a landscape monitor. The image would rotate 90 degrees
to make sure it was the right way up.

Sounds like it might match the Pivot I have sitting around... unused for
lack of a cable or card...
