Mac port pinouts?

2001-09-06 Thread Gregg Eshelman

Is there a site that has the pinouts for _every_
type of internal and external port ever used on a Mac
from the 128K through the latest model? (Including the
mini DIN 7 ports on the x100 PowerMac AV PDS card.)

If there isn't such a site, it's about time one was
created.

I know the AV card ports have both S-Video and
composite on them but I can't find any cables with
_both_ plug types on them nor can I find the pinout
diagram so I can make my own cables. I have a mini DIN
7 to RCA cable that came with a Creative Labs PC video
card and it fits the AV port but I'm not wanting to
risk even turning the Mac on with it plugged in. :P

Yes. Well, almost...the FAQ has a link.

Those are S-video input. The 4-pin is S-video output. Try googling for
s-video pinout and see what you get...

They are both 7 pin ports. S-IN and S-OUT.

They will take standard 4 pin S-Video plugs though. They are actually
S-Video / Composite connections. There are adapter cables that connect
them to RCA.
