On the bright side, it's no longer a pity that they're only 16 MHz, as Apple never used a 68020 faster than 16 MHz. But what would the winner do with the other 99 of them? There was another lot from the same seller with quantity 50 but starting at $150, so $3/chip instead of $2/chip.
