Now that I have my LC network ready, I can back up the hard drive and put
in a faster one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to get a cheap
SCSI hard drive for the LC. I'm assuming there's a 2GB limit to what it can
access, so I'm talking used stuff, of course. Also, what is the fastest I
should bother with? I'm assuming the computer(not the hard drive) would become
the bottleneck at a certain point. Or, is it already the bottleneck? I have
an old Apple branded 80MB drive in it. I was thinking a faster hard drive
would speed it up a lot since it seems to be slow in accessing the contents
for List View. If, the computer itself is already the bottleneck, please
let me know before I waste any money on a faster hard drive for nothing. If
I go this route, will copying the hard drive to the OSX machine, then copying
to the new hard drive be enough? Or, will that miss something, causing it
not to run. As far as I understand, I should see all hidden files from my
OSX machine, but maybe I'm wrong.
Lastly, are there any must-have programs that I should download for this
LC? I'm not interested in games, just productivity tools, enhancements, etc.
...
Thanks again for helping me get this thing tuned up.
Peace,
Todd
