You can get the Standscan from www.Standscan.com. Make sure you get the Pro
version which has the LED lighting and I suggest to also get the adapter so
you can plug them into a regular outlet rather than having to use batteries
all the time.

I too updated Prizmo.
I just did a test using the Standscan pro with a concert program.  The quick
capture worked better than the create a new document.  That seems very odd
to me.  Here is the quick capture result.  There were several words that did
funny things with r's like his name, which should have come out Morton
Lauridsen.

Welcome to this celebration of the composer Moden Laufidsen's choral
masterworks.
We have been thdlled to have Lauridsen in Portland this week. Since his
arrival on Wednesday evening, he has worked with each of our choirs, given
public lectures and composition master classes at Lewis & Clark College and
Marylhurst University, and offered nuanced insight into his beautiful
writing for choir.

Last spring, the three of us met to discuss the idea of collaboration
between our three choral programs in Southwest Portland. We knew we wanted
to combine our choirs to 3erform a major choral-orchestral work, and we had
only to decide which work would most inspire our choirs. When Justin
suggested that we might bring the living legend V~orten Lauridsen to town,
Wendy and Kathy immediately jumped at the chance, knowing how exciting and
life-changing this opportunity would be for our singers.
Fortunately, Dr. Lauridsen was available this fall and, indeed, this has
been an incredible learning experience for all of us.

We hope that this evening's concert, and Dr. Lauridsen's soaring, exquisite
and deeply felt music, will move and inspire you as much as this
collaboration has inspired us. From the simple tunefulness of "Dirait-on,"
to the rich, earthy evocations of nature in the Mid-Winter Songs, to the
soaring, Gregorian chant-inspired Lux Aetema and O Magnum Mysterium, it will
be a truly memorable evening of music.

I just updated Prizmo today and find that there is something wrong. Not sure
what it is, but I haven't managed to get it to recognise any text. Using the
same sample document, however, TextGrabber is working well. So, I am pretty
sure it is this latest incarnation of Prizmo that is having the problems. It
seems, after taking the shot, the image of the text is just a black screen.

If anyone is having success with this latest version of Prizmo, would you
please let me know.

Hi Doug,

 

You would have to sign into your gmail account on your computer, then go to
Settings and find it there. If you can't find it feel free to send me a
private message and I can look for it and tell you exactly which links you
have to follow, but it's not that hard to find.

 

Now, my question would be why you want to change to an inferior protocol?
POP was never designed to be used on multiple devices where you would want
to sync your mail between a computer and an iPhone, for example.

Hi Denise,

Do you have a Bluetooth keyboard? If your on-screen keyboard is hidden
because of a connected Bluetooth keyboard, the 2-finger double tap in an
edit field to start dictation will not work. It only works if the Dictate
button is on the screen and if the keyboard is hidden that is not the case.

I used to use App Shopper to keep tabs on apps I wanted alerts on price
drops. The damn thing's been picky about synchronizing my password, and I
never much liked the layout anyway. Can anyone recommend another similar app

The two-finger double tap may be unreliable in iOS7.0.x. Instead, double tap on 
the "dictate" button on the keyboard, then double tap again when you are done. 
So long as you don't move your finger, the second double tap should be on the 
"dictate" button with no need to find it again, and it will stop dictation.

If you have airplay mode on, you can't send or receive imessage anyway. So, in 
this case, it does not applicable.
I think what Jonathan mean is when you activating the imessage, it will send a 
hidden message. It only happen when you activating the feature, not everytime 
when you send or recieve the message.

I have had this headset for a few days and really like it.  By the time it 
starts getting uncomfortable, it's time to take it off to charge.  I'm sure 
I'll get used to it though.  On phone calls, I was told they couldn't tell I 
was using a Bluetooth headset, or any headset for that matter.  For a whole 
day, I couldn't figure out how to activate Siri.  I finally found the button 
that did that.  It all works well.  I can play and pause music.  I also tried 
it with the Down Cast app and Bard.  It works with both.  With Bard, there are 
sometimes when you have to kind of reset things to make it work well again.  I 
think that's the bard problem though, and I was able to make it work again.

 

There is a microphone that comes out about 3 inches.  You can move it up 
out of the way when not in use.  The headset will speak the talk time left and 
other things.  You can answer and ignore incoming calls with your voice.  Of 
course, it can be worn on either ear.

 

I do have the manual that I have put in a word document.  If anyone needs 
it, I'd be happy to send it.

 

I'm very pleased with it.  I would read the reviews before buying.  Some 
people don't like the charging system.

at&t prepaid

My at&t contract ran out last week and it would be $30 cheaper a month for 
me to switch to the Go Phone or pre paid plan.  I would also be getting 1 
more GB of data than I currently am.  Can someone tell me why I shouldn't do 
this or if I am write that it would be a great idea?

Hello to Cory and Seacord, a lot of the phone companies are still working on 
updating their towers to be able to support the 4G LTE service here in the 
states is another reason why you could be experiencing problems. I'm also 
experiencing issues with Sprint who is been very fasting good for the last few 
years that I've had them up until a few months ago.

I have the iPhone 4 and have updated it to iOS 7.4.  I recommend after you 
install the upgrade that you run cleaner on it to remove the temp files on 
your iPhone.  The first time I ran it, I removed a gig of garbage.  That 
alone made my phone run faster.  The software runs just fine on an iPhone 4.

display and find the Directions Button. Double-tap Directions to have the route 
displayed. The displayed route is excellent, listing direction to travel, 
distance to next point, and direction to turn (left or right). At the end, it 
shows whether the place is on the left or right.

Also in the Start screen is a More Info Button and an Options button. In 
Options, one can add multiple stops to the route, amongst other options.

Note: Currently Apple Maps does not support public transit information, so it 
brings up GPS apps on the iPhone that support Public Transit. When I opened 
Google Maps, my starting and destination information was loaded for me.

For a free option, this is very good. Also, the map screen can be tactually 
explored by moving one's finger slowly. Apple Maps announces the street one is 
touching, and can go into tracking mode with sound cues for following streets 
on the display.

Note, I have not yet used Apple Maps for route navigation. Given that I like it 
for what's around me when I am walking, I suspect it will do quite well with 
routes. I will test it soon.

Radium info needed

My initial post elicited no response, so I thought I would try again.

Please would someone either point me to some instructions for using the
Radium player or, in lieu of a podcast or something, please provide a
few pointers as to the use of this app.Also, I used to use Music
Dock, so I would appreciate comments from persons familiar with both apps.

If I remember correctly, there were two apps with the name "radium," and
I got the one called radium perfect.

I have heard the IOS 7 is very sluggish on the 4.  I had it on my 4S
and it worked well.  I have since upgraded to the 5s but that was
because I plan to upgrade every 2 years and this was the time.

By all means buy yourself a 5s.  I had and still do have my iPhone 4 and I 
use it for listening to iTunes radio via my Bose sound dock 10.  I found a 
great station called Christmas Party.  It does just what it says it does. 
It plays party music so folks can dance etc and sprinkles in Christmas songs 
along the way.

There was a problem with accessing the BARD site from the mobile app 
over the weekend, but it seems to be fixed for me. I can now get to my 
wish list, and I just searched for Higgins, and got 107 records.

My experience with bard this weekend had been that I was able to read books 
which were already downloaded to my device. However, I could not download any 
books from the website through the app nor was I able to access my wish list, 
again from the website on my phone. I didn’t try via the computer so wasn’t 
sure whether the entire website was down or only the mobile portion. 

Of course, it happened on the weekend so we would have to wait until the work 
week began before they can work on fixing it. I haven’t tried yet today but 
hope it will be up soon so that I can get books for my plane trip in a few 
days.

I went to the BARD web site and did a search for a number of books by title,
book number and author.  All of my searches came up with zero results.  Is
the BARD web site search not working?  Like I said I even use the DB number

How do you know it sends a hidden text message to a number? If I have
airplane mode on or using an iPad, obviously a text can't be sent
without being connected to a cellular network. How does this work?

I too updated Prizmo.
I just did a test using the Standscan pro with a concert program.  The quick
capture worked better than the create a new document.  That seems very odd
to me.  Here is the quick capture result.  There were several words that did
funny things with r's like his name, which should have come out Morton

Welcome to this celebration of the composer Moden Laufidsen's choral
masterworks.
We have been thdlled to have Lauridsen in Portland this week. Since his
arrival on Wednesday evening, he has worked with each of our choirs, given
public lectures and composition master classes at Lewis & Clark College and
Marylhurst University, and offered nuanced insight into his beautiful
writing for choir.

Last spring, the three of us met to discuss the idea of collaboration
between our three choral programs in Southwest Portland. We knew we wanted
to combine our choirs to 3erform a major choral-orchestral work, and we had
only to decide which work would most inspire our choirs. When Justin
suggested that we might bring the living legend V~orten Lauridsen to town,
Wendy and Kathy immediately jumped at the chance, knowing how exciting and
life-changing this opportunity would be for our singers.
Fortunately, Dr. Lauridsen was available this fall and, indeed, this has
been an incredible learning experience for all of us.

We hope that this evening's concert, and Dr. Lauridsen's soaring, exquisite
and deeply felt music, will move and inspire you as much as this
collaboration has inspired us. From the simple tunefulness of "Dirait-on,"
to the rich, earthy evocations of nature in the Mid-Winter Songs, to the
soaring, Gregorian chant-inspired Lux Aetema and O Magnum Mysterium, it will
be a truly memorable evening of music.

I just updated Prizmo today and find that there is something wrong. Not sure
what it is, but I haven't managed to get it to recognise any text. Using the
same sample document, however, TextGrabber is working well. So, I am pretty
sure it is this latest incarnation of Prizmo that is having the problems. It
seems, after taking the shot, the image of the text is just a black screen.

If anyone is having success with this latest version of Prizmo, would you
please let me know.

Yes, this does work. Up until now, I wasn't able to get to page 4. When I 
did this time, at first, even though I hit "sign in" it had me on the page 
to create, but when I hit the back button and did sign in I was able to sign 
in. Really dumb to have it on the last page imo.

In the dropbox app, did you go to settings?  There you can double tap the
login which will then ask for your email address.  Type that in.  Under

it asks you for your password.  Type that in and double tap continue in

lower right-hand corner.  That should get you logged in.  Then you should
see your folders if you've created them etc.

There is a app called sReader that is posted in the iOS app directry  and also 
posted in the app store.s

I frequenntly have to access large PDFs.  In the native reader, if you move to 
another app while reading a PDF and then return to the PDF it seems it takes 
you back to the beginning of the document.  This is frustrating when you're in 
a 600 pade PDF and have to scroll to find where you were.  I've also tried the 
adobe Reader for iOS but it seems to have it's own limitations as well, reading 
an entire page at a time as opposed to say, a single paragraph on a page.  Has 
anyone had better results with other apps?

Best PDF reader?

Hi all,

I'd be happy to send it.

   

  I'm very pleased with it.  I would read the reviews before buying.  Some 
people don't like the charging system.

Still trouble syncing music

Hi,  
The other day I sent a message because I was not able to get some music to show 
up on my phone that I had purchased from the itunes store.  It finally showed 
up though not in the purchased music playlist.  
I can see it in the recently added but not the purchased.  Why would this be 
since it’s purchased.  On my iPod touch 4 it shows up bot in the recently added 
and the purchased.  How do I fix this?
