The calendar and most other dot commands are only available with the in-app
purchase. You specify the default calendar in Settings Mail, contacts and
calendar.

 Hi, Everyone.
Is the ability to add calendar events in MBraille available with the
free version, or do I need to do the in-app purchase?

Also, if I have three calendars, how can I specify which calendar to
 add the event to?

 Thanks,

Re: Battery charge on IPhone4S?

2015-05-25 Thread Alan J Paganelli
Ann, it should last. The bard reading app was designed to be frugal. You
should have enough power and by some chance you see it droping more then you
like, turn off the bard app. I personally open the app switcher and turn
off all the apps I'm not using which is usually quite a few. I've heard the
arguements that opened apps suck up power and others saying it doesn't. It
matters not to me. It's easy enough to turn them off.

Have you tried the my profile tab at the bottom of the screen next to the

There is now a separate search tab which is better for searching for stations.

Subject: Difficulty In Setting up IPhone6Plus

Hi, list.

I am trying to setup a brand new IPhone 6 Plus but am having problem with
it. When I tried to restore from the backup, ITune told me that I could not
do that because the software is too old. Then ITune updated IOS from 8.1 to
a higher version. Then the phone started and is sitting on the opening
screen. I can not go past Information button. The prompt is in a bunch of
languages. It also says Slide To Set up but I can neither click the
Information button nor slide to setup because Voiceover is not accepting
commands/gestures.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Recommendation For IPhone 6 Plus Case, Please?

2015-05-25 Thread Fazil
Hi list.

I'm looking for some recommendations for a case for my new IPhone 6 Plus
that I got yesterday. Right now it is in Defender by Otterbox but I am not
happy with it because the plastic sheet on the screen is not flushed with
the screen, thus, it does not accept a light tap, touch or swipe. I have to
tap hard.

Any recommendations, please?

Thanks!

Hi,

Go into settings, then notifications which is near the top. Swipe to
groupon and double tap on it. You can then toggle badges, banners, and
sounds.

hardware? If so, what do I need to purchase?
Thanks.

 Afternoon all

I have just read a book I have purchased, Apple TV Third Generation with
VoiceOver. Wow! What an incredible little piece of technology. After
reading this book,, I am excited to inform you that I will definitely get
an Apple TV as early as the end of this week. For one, I really want to cut
the cable, so to speak, even if it's just Freeview or free-to-air
television, especially if my box is failing. For two, there are a wide
range of channels, both from Apple and third parties like Netflix, so there
will be plenty to watch. Even if the channel is not on Apple TV, there are
ways around it thanks to me owning both an iPhone 4s and iPad Mini 2 along
 with a
13 inch Macbook Pro all running the latest iterations of their operating
systems. So yes, rock on Apple TV!

Hi Ed,

With settings/general multitasking turned on you can go to the app switcher by
using a five finger swipe up. At least that is what I found.

Hope this helps

Re: iPhone 6 and Alex question

2015-05-25 Thread Daniel Miller
Hi, there's a bug in iOS with the Alex voice. You have to turn off voice over
with triple click home and then turn it back on to get Alex to be used. As far
as screen sensitivity goes, I don't think there's a way to adjust that.

Re: Apple TV

2015-05-25 Thread christopher hallsworth
Yes it is. As far as I know, you just need an optical cable. If so, plug one
end into the optical in port of the Apple TV and the other end into the optical
out port on the music system. I'm no expert on this, so if you're interested
you may need to do some homework. I know it is possible though and know of
people who use Apple TV without a TV simply because they do not have or need
one.

 Afternoon all

I have just read a book I have purchased, Apple TV Third Generation with
VoiceOver. Wow! What an incredible little piece of technology. After
reading this book,, I am excited to inform you that I will definitely get
an Apple TV as early as the end of this week. For one, I really want to
cut the cable, so to speak, even if it's just Freeview or free-to-air
television, especially if my box is failing. For two, there are a wide
range of channels, both from Apple and third parties like Netflix, so
there will be plenty to watch. Even if the channel is not on Apple TV,
there are ways around it thanks to me owning both an iPhone 4s and iPad
 Mini 2 along with a
13 inch Macbook Pro all running the latest iterations of their operating
systems. So yes, rock on Apple TV!

Re: Apple TV

2015-05-25 Thread Matthew Bullis
I use one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBHX072/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8camp=17...

It's a little box that is meant for if you're plugging something into a tv that
doesn't give you the other inputs you need. With this box, you get RCA outputs,
so I just ran a patch cord into my audio mixer. If you just get an HDMI cable,
plug that from the Apple TV into this box, you're good to go with RCA outputs.
This cost about $25, and the two cords you'll need won't cost but a few
ddollars more.

Re: When dealing with notifications.

2015-05-25 Thread Alex Hall
I think so. Simply set show on lock screen to on, then choose none in the
Alert Style picker. In theory, this will show notifications for the app in
question on your lock screen and in your notification center, but will not show
banners (which VO announces) when the phone is unlocked. You may also wish to
play with the sound options; for Facebook Messenger, I have the alert set to
None, but I leave the sound on. My phone vibrates and plays the distinctive
sound, but I don't have to worry about VoiceOver reading the message
automatically. Plus, any Messenger notifications will appear, in full, on my
lock screen. The advantage is that I'm notified by the sound and can check when
I have time, instead of randomly checking and finding no new messages. It's all
up to you though, so see what combination of settings gives you the best
results.

Re: audible issue

2015-05-25 Thread Kathy Metters
Caution I don't recommend updating the Audible app. They have introduced some
serious problems with the last two updates. Currently the audible app is
unuseable. I will patiently wait for another update. I've been contacting
Audible continuously regarding the problems I am experiencing.

Review of Audible 2.5.1 are no better than those of 2.5.0. With 206 reviews
of the current version present on the App Store now, the average rating is
1.5 stars. I can't imagine what's going on with the Audible developers, but
it's pretty obvious they're taking quite a beating.

I understand you have received feedback from some other users stating that
there are having issues with the VoiceOver feature on our iOS app. I will
be more than glad to help you with this.

We had some system glitches in the latest update of our iOS app, which was
causing several issues with the saved titles in your libraries, with the
bookmarks of the books you already listened as well with the VoiceOver.
Our technical department has been working on fixing those issues and they
should be resolved by now. This should not be happening in the future. I
apologize if this may be causing a bad experience with our service.

I just checked the app store, and the version shown is 2.51, so the fix
  isn't in the store yet.
I'll check next week and see what I find.
As we know, it can take a while for updates to show up, if indeed they put
  in a new build ...

  Later,
  Richard
