Re: Silly question about Spotify

2016-02-18 Thread Brett

Hi,

Yes, if you purchase the premium Spotify on your phone, you will be
using the premium version on your desktop, assuming your using the same
credentials on your PC as your phone.

I don't use Spotify anymore, but I am pretty sure you can only access
spotify from one device at any given time, so you can't listen on both
your phone and PC simultaneously.

Cheers,
Brett.

Hello everyone,

I have a silly question about Spotify. I know this might seem silly to
some, but I really don't know the answer to this question. If I
purchased the premium addition of Spotify on my phone, one that shows
up is the premium addition on my laptop?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Re: getting music from iPhone to iPod touch?

2016-02-18 Thread Richard Turner

You will set up your Touch as a new device.
In iTunes you will select the iPod Touch and go through and check sync all
music, and only check the apps you want on the touch, etc.
iTunes will treat the iPhone and the Touch as two separate devices, unless you
restore an iPhone backup to the Touch, then you would have what you don't want.
I hope that made sense.
Richard

Re: updating the gmail app

2016-02-18 Thread joseph hudson
Hello Paula, this came up on the other list of a few days ago. Primarily until
the Apple list. Me and another gentleman went into this with another lady, and
there's no reason not to update that app. It is very accessible however, I am
not using it because I find that the native mail app has when I want. However,
I also have found another app to be accessible at my disposal, and it allows me
to have multiple inboxes that aren't just Google accounts in the gym in the
application. No, I'm not talking about Outlook. Because I don't like the way
that it sets up the accounts. I'm talking about that Yahoo app. I'm easily able
to manage my yahoo account account my Gmail acct. and my Outlook account and
another I Account that I have.

Re: TapTapSee

2016-02-18 Thread Jewel
I have never had anything like this. It is, absolutely, wonderful.
I haven't been able to find the writing on a can yet, but I have been told that
it was a green can
with a black and white container near it standing on top of a table.
The detail that it gives is fantastic: like: a medium-sized dog with short
black coat, sleeping on
the floor near an open door.
I took the thphone outside and aimed the camera at where I thought that it
should show a line of
laundry, but what it saw was a blue cloth on green grass, and, sure enough,
when I checked, there
was, indeed a blue cloth: a bed sheet which had blown off the line and was on
green grass; not all
the washing had blown off the line, but to alert me to the fact that some had
was far more
important.

The developers are to be congratulated in designing such a wonderful program.
I have downloaded FindCam, but, to date, have not been able to get it going,
but that is due to my
ineptitude with new technology, and has nothing to do with the accessibility of
the app.

I just wrote the developers and they said that no, they were not going to go
away or cancel the app
or anything like that which was what I was worried about. This is good news.

some, but I really don't know the answer to this question. If I purchased
the premium addition of Spotify on my phone, one that shows up is the
premium addition on my laptop?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Re: How do You Know When an App is on Sale?

2016-02-18 Thread MamaPeach
I use an app called App Shopper. Once you download the App Shopper app and
go through the set up process, then double tap on the search tab at the
bottom.

Type in the edit field the name in the app you want.
Look through the results to find the app you want and then double tap on it.
Double tap where it says I Want It.
You will then be notified by email when the price for the app drops, or when
there is an update for the app. I have gotten a lot of apps free by using
this app. Also have gotten a lot of apps where the price had been reduced.

I can tell you the drag and drop is nothing more than double tap, hold, and

RE: Frustrated with Apple Pay

2016-02-18 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
How does the ApplePay on the AppleWatch work?

-Original Message-
From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of
M. Taylor
Sent: Wednesday, February 17, 2016 8:35 PM

Subject: RE: Frustrated with Apple Pay

Hello Sarai,

I am sorry you have had difficulty in using Apple Pay. Rest assured that once
you get the hang of it, it will quickly become your payment method of choice.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using Apple Pay. First,
because of various security policies, some vendors require that either you or
the cashier confirm the payment, by tapping a soft-button on the terminal,
after initiating Apple Pay. This is usually not the case but, in the case of
some vendors, it is.

Second, if you recently rebooted the phone, you must first enter your unlock
password in order to use both either the phone or Apple Pay.

So, having said this, when you're ready to use Apple Pay and assuming all is
well with your preferred credit card and, that you only have one credit card on
file for use with Apple Pay:

1.
Wait until the cashier tells you that the system is ready to accept payment.
You may also ask the cashier if he/she is ready to accept payment.

2.
With the phone locked, that is to say, with the screen turned off, place your
finger, which you use to unlock iPhone, on the HOME button as you move the
device to within 2 inches of the terminal transmitter. Be certain not to
depress the HOME button, just keep your finger on top of it until you feel a
double-vibration.

3.
At this point, the transaction should be complete, however, at certain
locations, a message will pop-up on the vendor's terminal display requiring you
to confirm the purchase. In such an instance, someone will need to tap that
button in order to complete the transaction.

Finally, and I cannot underscore this enough, it is extremely important that
you place iPhone to within 2 inches of the terminal transmitter in order to
initiate payment. Some people think that just because the credit card pops up
on the phone's display, that the transaction is in progress. It is not. If
the phone is not close enough, even though the display is awake, the
transaction will not be initiated.

Oh, while it is not necessary for the phone to first be locked in order to use
Apple Pay, I find that first time users of the payment method do better when
beginning the transaction from that state.

Good Luck,

Mark

Not sure if you have this update yet, if not, maybe try downloading that and

Re: problem with dice world

2016-02-18 Thread rajmund

Hello,
Go into create a game, game cue, and choose a game. When someone
else also joins that cue, it will pare you up with the other end,
and you'll play with them. The good thing is, both ends know how
it works, and so in most cases, (not all) you won't be rejected,
and know that the person will play the game, since they've
entered the cue.

I totally agree! get sick of constant invites, from people i
don't know!

I still have the game, but just wish to play, with people of my
choosing and not random people, who i have to keep rejecting.

There should be an option in the settings to stop random
invites.

I don't mind, if it is someone who has seen me through twitter
or another persons FB, but in those cases, i would prefer it if
they would write me a small message, saying, who they are.

I use to write back to some of these invites, to ask if they
know me from somewhere, and they don't bother to reply!

But i don't see the point of the developer, keeping this option,
if i am just going to get shut of them!

because of all the annoying random game invitations that pop up

From: Krister Ekstrom This is *not* critizism even though it might seem so. I merely
want to test my opinion in a matter where i more or less have
been accused of being wrong.
You see, i want those i tell and sometimes teach about the
iDevices to know their device thoroughly so that they don't get
stuck somewhere if things happen and so that they themselves can
make an informed choice about for example what input method to
use and so i have said that if you want an iPhone you'll have to
learn and know about the virtual keyboard before you get to
decide if you want to use it or not.
I for example am not using a physical bluetooth keyboard although
i have a little cute one sitting around here. Now i'm
exclusively using Fleksy for my typing needs, and sometimes when
i'm in a hurry to make a calendar appointment for example i use
Siri and then go in and edit the calendar entry afterwards but
before i used Fleksy i used the stock iOs keyboard.
I have chosen to do this because i don't want to carry many
gadgets with me all the time, but those are my choices, so please
tell me what in my opinion is wrong because i am apparently so
dence i can't understand it. What in my reasoning is flawed?

You have to take into consideration that the game being abandoned
might not be something they do on purpose. There is such a thing
as life and it does go on whether we want it to or not. They
could have gotten ill, had a death in their family, just any
number of reasons why they don't finish a game. Yes, there are
those that will desert a game just because they are losing, but
you have to consider that there might be other reasons as well..
It is just a game and people shouldn't get so upset over little
things like that. There are too many other things in life that
should take priority. Just my opinion, for what its worth.

Amazing tap tap see update

2016-02-18 Thread Michael Malver
According to the "what's new" in the latest tap tap see update, it is free

Beth, saw an update for this app I think it was yesterday, 02/12
in the App Store, and the information about the update said it
was fixing crash issues. Not sure if you have this update yet,
if not, maybe try downloading that and then trying to open the
app. That's about the only suggestion I can think of.

I would sure be lost without this app, totally addicting.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

RE: how to move by chapter on Voice Dream Reader

2016-02-18 Thread Pinky
Hi Richard,

This is the weirdest thing with voice Dream. I tried everything to get
navigation unit and also tried to change chapters. Nothing would work. So I
downloaded another book from Bookshare. I tried to move by chapters on the new
book I downloaded and it worked like a charm. Then I went back to the other
book that was not working that I had downloaded from book share earlier. Now I
can change chapters. This did not work before for some reason. The only thing I
can think of was I only had one book in my folders. After I downloaded another
book and have two books in folders now everything works like it should. Now it
seem to be working like it did before. The other thing I notice before was
when I tried to delete a book I would just highlight it and then flick down and
it would say delete. Earlier it would not do that. After I downloaded the other
book now that feature workds. So I deleted the last book I downloaded and left
the one book in folder that I had before. Now I tried everything again and it
workds fine. Go figure. I thought I was losing my mine last night when I was
trying to do all this and nothing would work. I even rebooted my iPad and that
did not help.

Any ideas why this would have happened?

Thanks for all your assistant Richard.

Hi,

You are almost there. You set the navigation unit to chapters, which you did.

Then 'double tap on play to get it playing, then while the play button has
focus, flick up or down with one finger on play to move by chapter.

Now, assuming this is a DAISY book, that has chapters marked up, this will work.

iMeet accessibility

2016-02-18 Thread John Ylioja
Has anyone used the iMeet online meeting software from iMeet.com? I have
been invited to attend a meeting next Monday and am exploring its
accessibility. It appears to use Flash on the PC, and I am able to get
as far as joining a meeting but then there is a Flash object that NVDA
cannot read. On the IOS version, I can join a meeting, but am having
trouble adjusting the audio controls for mic and speaker volume, and
would like to find a mute audio option. It is using a web interface in
the app instead of buttons or slider controls. The website does give a
possibility to log in with a browser and then use a phone connection for
the audio, but I haven't gone through this option far enough yet to know
whether it's accessible. I haven't yet tried the Mac version of the
software, but if it also uses Flash I am guessing it may be less
accessible than the Windows version. The website to join a meeting won't
load properly without Flash installed, which I don't yet have on my new
Mac. I'd rather not install Flash into Safari if it's not going to be
accessible but may try installing Chrome.

I've searched their online forums but can't find much regarding
accessibility. In their GlobalMeet community, someone asked about ADA
compliance, and a representative replied that they would look for an
answer but there are no posts after that.

Thanks for any help.

BTW, I tend to agree with you about the comments regarding whining and

2016-02-18 Thread Pinky
Hi Group,

For some reason I cannot get my Voice Dream Reader to move by chapter. I
used to be able to do it with know issue. I have the navigation unit set to
chapter. I have a couple questions.

1. How do I change the navigation unit?

2. How do I get the book to move by chapters?

For some reason when I double tap on navigation unit and then flick up or
down I cannot change the unit. Also when I have the navigation unit set on
chapter. I double tap on play and the book start playing. Then I move to
navigation unit and double tap on that and flick up and down and I cannot
get it to move. Can someone please tell this old brain what I am doing
wrong?

I am try to get to the first chapter of a book so I don't have to listen to
all the copy right issues.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ed

handful of posts where people were getting on others because they were
asking for something that didn't seem important to them.

Hi Kimi,
I don’t think, that this is a matter of people Moaning and Groaning!
It was just simply a feature request!
This new feature, doesn’t in any way affect, anyone who doesn’t wish

If Nick, didn’t think, this request was valid and reasonable, i am
sure, he wouldn’t have implemented it!
So, all i can say, that it is good, we have App Developers, like Nick,
who care enough, to listen to there users.
Take care,
Dave.

*A Dice World beta just came out that adds a new setting to turn off
random game invites. This should show people that this developer is
devoted to making the users of his app happy and that he does indeed
listen to the feedback that people submit. Watch for the update in the
app store soon.*
