Re: Apple Watch Voiceover voices

2016-10-16 Thread christopher hallsworth
I agree, it’s misinformation, and there’s no excuse for that, but changing the
VoiceOver voice isn’t where you would expect it, so someone new to Apple Watch
could be forgiven to thinking it can’t be done when it can. I had an idea it
could, as for one, the voice changed when I set the language to UK, and for
two, I’m used to this design thanks to me previously owning an Apple TV 3rd
generation. It was also the case with the 4th generation, but this has changed
in tvOS 10.

Also, his gf will have to go into settings, message, and turn on send as sms,
which is turned off by default, when iMessage is turned on. I think this is
unfortunate, it should remain on by default. Her phone will still send
iMessages as iMessages when sending to another Apple device.

Re: Apple Watch Voiceover voices

2016-10-16 Thread Shaf Patel
Yes, you can change the VoiceOver voice. Do not give out misinformation.
When you set up Apple Watch for the first time, you need to select the
watch region. Depending on the country selected, you'll get that
specific voice, so for example if you want the Australian voice you'll
select Australia, UK for Daniel, US for Samantha etc. There is no other
way of changing the voice, and I hope Apple start listening to their
users requests and implement that feature.

Yes you can; go into Settings/General/Restore and delete and Restore; once the
phone restarts, you can choose if you want to restore via an ICloud backup or
from ITunes. Good luck! And don't connect ITunes to restore since you'll want
to restore from an ICloud backup. Hope this helps some.

Thing is though, if it's been backed up to iCloud recently, you can
just reset it, let him use it then just restore from the backup. That
seems the cleanest way to do it in my opinion.

Hey all, I'm thinking of turning in old for S over to a neighbor a young
kid who needs to take some pictures. I'm looking at the iTunes App Store
and it says require a pass word on this device. When it says on this
device do they literally mean that device and only that device? Will
this affect my other phone which I am using? I'm assuming it means
exactly what it says and then if I tell it's always require a passport I
won't have to worry about him doing weird things in the App Store. Is
 that a right assumption?

Loaning an old iPhone to someone

If I were sure that I wouldn't want to keep the phone as a back up and I was
going to give it to him rather than loan it to him I would definitely reset it
all and just wipe it clean. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet but yeah that would

RE: Camera on an iPhone

2016-10-16 Thread Dulce Muccio Weisenborn
I would say yes, but if you want to send the picture somewhere to share or
be processed, you would need a connection. You could test this by just
taking a picture and looking for it in your camera roll versus using Tap,
Tap, See, which has to process the photo.

Ordering Apple Watch with the Apple Store app

2016-10-16 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi,

I always had good luck with the Apple Store app and found it easy to use and
very accessible. Recently I decided I am ready to buy an Apple Watch. I happen
to be in Calgary right now where there are 2 Apple Stores. Unfortunately
neither one has an Apple Watch Series 2 in stock or at least not the stainless
steel model I want. In the app it says delivery is 3 to 4 weeks, but after I
add the watch I want to the cart or "Bag" as they call it and want to checkout
it keeps saying that it will be ready for pick up at the nearest Apple Store by
November 24. I just have an option at the bottom to pay and see no way to
select to have it shipped to me since I am going to be long gone from here by
November 24. I checked in the account tab and my address is entered correctly
under "Primary address" but I just don't see a way to change it from store
pickup to getting shipped to me. I am curious if anybody else has ordered
something recently and knows if this is done in a later step or how it can be
done.

Regards,
Sieghard

Yes you can; go into Settings/General/Restore and delete and Restore; once the
phone restarts, you can choose if you want to restore via an ICloud backup or
from ITunes. Good luck! And don't connect ITunes to restore since you'll want
to restore from an ICloud backup. Hope this helps some.

Apple Watch Voiceover voices

I just picked up Apple Watch series 1 and learning to work with it. Does
anyone know if you can change the Voiceover voice? There are no speech
settings that I can find to do so.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Dropbox problem

2016-10-16 Thread Chris Chaffin

I actually noticed that when I tried to save a file the other day. When I
looked more closely, I just had to choose a location to save it. Once I chose
a location, then all worked fine.
Try swiping past the save button until you get to the choose location button.
When you get to where you want to save the file, there is a choose button at
the bottom of the screen that you have to double tap to choose that location.
It will then take you back to the save button, it should no longer be dimmed
out.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Re: Storage issue

2016-10-16 Thread Mário Gabriel

yo.
Yes it's true.
It also happens to me.
It is a bug.

I hope Apple addresses this issue.
cheers.

Hello everybody,

First of all, I want to thank everyone who has tried helping me so far.
I really do appreciate it. I am going to try the suggestions here in a
little bit.

However, I just realized something, and it shocked me.

I have a 16 gig Iphone. When I update it to the latest update, it is
usually over WIFI. I mention this, just in case it's important.

I went in to storage just a bit ago. I noticed when I got in to manage
storage, that I only have a little over a gig left on my phone. I don't
understand why this is. I don't have a lot of apps, and the ones I do
have are small in size. I have maybe 30 photos on my phone. Some of
which I would like to delete, but of course I will need sighted assistence.

I know that this had to happen recently, because just about a week, or 2
ago, I had close to 6 gigs free. It's interesting that this has just
happened to me, because last night a good friend of mine was telling me
about the same issue.

So what the heck could be going on?

And how can I fix it?

I removed a couple of apps I rarely use. But of course, that didn't make
much of a difference.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri
