Beta users, please help me with this report

2017-06-30 Thread afik Suffir

Hello, attached is my report to apple. You may add your own bugs and send
them. We have to report it many times so they’ll fix it.

Dont forget to attach the accessibility settings and the diagnostic.

Here is the report.

In the past, when holding the command, plus VO key plus the arrows, you could
change voice over parameters easily. Now, you have to add the shift key. Like,
command, plus VO key, plus shift, plus the arrows to change the parameters. Can
you change it back to normal behavior?

In addition, when exploring around the doc with voice over, its says “safari
not found, mail not found, and so on.” But, its there. So, why its say not
found? When I press the “not found,” its open up the app.

Steps, just explore the doc.

Question About Facetime Audio and Battery Status

2017-06-30 Thread Robin Frost
Hi,
Last night I had occasion to visit with a friend via facetime audio on my
iPhone 7Plus running iOS 10.3.3 I believe is the most recent version number.
And while doing this I observed some behavior with VoiceOver I’ve never
witnessed before. Suddenly while on this Facetime call whether I was in the
Facetime screen or anywhere else it mattered not I couldn’t get VoiceOver to
read my battery status at all. It could read other icons on the status like
such as cellular signal strength, wi-fi strength, the time but when I got
further towards that top right-hand corner it just said nothing at all and made
the clicking noise you sometimes hear when swiping through elements on screen.
Has anyone else ever seen anything like this and what on earth is the cause?
the person with whom I was chatting was on an iPhone 6 and had no issues seeing
his battery status. It is quite the curiosity. Thanks for any light you could
shed on this for me.
Robin

carries some of the video that is described. I've used it for bread box, and
let's see, some of the shopping channels I like you don't want to have a
service provider and less I have to you can I would so get many of the news
channels, and a lot of the different cable network channels. Sam you have to
have a provider for, but then you put in your email address and password and
they check it out and what you go. I have Travel Channel, sci-fi Channel, do it
yourself network, HGTV, discovery channel, investigation discovery you're also
eligible for any of the things that you would have on iTunes itself. All of the
radio stations, if you have a playlist attached to your computer and/or your
iPhone you can play it on there as well to cover more area in your home. I have
a to our nature clip that I play a lot of times when I'm trying to really just
relaxin mellow out. It also works for tiny tiny babies by the way. The
14-month-old loves it. :-) excuse any off-the-wall pronunciations here. I'm
doing this with lots of noise and people and so my dictation maybe off-the-wall.

Apple Tv Question

2017-06-30 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi everyone,
We just ordered fourth generation Apple Tv. What are some of the apps
especially the free ones that some of you are using. We don't have a service
provider and don't want one. Any information about what you think of Apple Tv
would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello,

Since this question is relevant to the list and others might be interested, I
decided to answer publicly. David Woodbridge does a great introductory podcast
on Swift Playgrounds; check out his iSee podcast. I've also done the first
several lessons. If I can help, I'll be glad to.

Best,

RE: Ever expanding list of VoiceOver Gestures, with headings and an iPad only section.

2017-06-30 Thread Richard Turner
VoiceOver Gestures
Navigate and read
• Practice Mode: Four finger double tap. Puts VoiceOver in practice mode so
you can practice gestures without opening or changing anything.
• Select and speak the item: Touch with one finger.
• Select the next or previous item: Swipe right or left with one finger.
• Select an item on the rotor: Swipe up or down with one finger. Depends on
the rotor setting. * Also used to access various options on apps, Email
messages, etc. Anywhere VoiceOver says "Actions available."
• Using the Rotor: Place two fingers on the screen like you were going to turn
a knob, hold them against the screen and twist left or right Select the next or
previous rotor item. Examples of items on the rotor are: speech rate,
character, word, line, heading. You can add other items to the rotor in the
VoiceOver settings.
• Read all from the top of the screen: Two-finger swipe up.
• Read all from the current position: Two-finger swipe down.
• Stop or resume speaking: Two-finger touch.
• To dismiss an alert or go back to the previous screen: Two-finger scrub: Move
two fingers rapidly in a small circle or slide two fingers back and forth three
times quickly (making a “z”)
• Speak Screen: Touch the status bar with one finger and swipe down with two
fingers; only works if Speak Screen is turned on in settings, general,
accessibility, speech. VO will continue reading even if the screen is locked.
• Scroll one page up or down at a time: Three-finger swipe up or down.
• Three-finger swipe right or left. For example): Go to the next or previous
page (on the Home screen.
• Open Notification Center: touch the status bar and swipe down with three
fingers.
• Open Control Panel: Touch status bar and swipe up with three fingers.
• Open Spotlight Search: Touch on the home screen below the status bar and
above the dock and swipe down with three fingers.
• Speak additional information, such as position within a list or whether text
is selected: Three-finger tap.
• Copy last thing spoken by VoiceOver to the clipboard: three-finger quadruple
tap.
• Select the first item on the page: Four-finger tap at top of screen.
• Select the last item on the page: Four-finger tap at bottom of screen.
Activate
• Activate the selected item: Double-tap with one finger.
• Alternative way to activate an item: Split-tap. Touch an item with one
finger, then tap the screen with another, while keeping the first finger on the
screen.
• When a non-VoiceOver user needs to Double-tap an item: VO users need to
Triple-tap with one finger.
• Use a standard gesture: Double-tap and hold (1 second) + standard gesture.
The double-tap and hold gesture tells iPhone to interpret the next gesture as
standard. For example, you can double-tap and hold your finger on the screen
until you hear three rising tones, and then without lifting your finger, drag
your finger on a slider. (Also known as the Pass Through Gesture.)
• Tap 2 times on the clock in status bar to scroll to top in any app.
•To start or stop an action: Two-finger double-tap. This gesture initiates an
action or halts or pauses an action in progress. For example, you can:
•Answer or end a call.
•Play or pause in Music, Videos, Voice Memos, or Photos (slideshows).
•Take a photo in Camera.
•Start or pause recording in Camera or Voice Memos.
•Start or stop the stopwatch.
• Change an item’s label to make it easier to find: Two-finger double-tap and
hold.
• Open the Item Chooser: Two-finger triple-tap.
• Select/deselect text: Turn on "Text Selection" in the VoiceOver rotor
settings, then turn the rotor to Text Selection and flick down to character,
word, line, etc., and then flick right with one finger to select text. Once
selected, turn rotor to edit and flick up or down to copy, print, share, etc.
Much easier than the Two-finger Pinch out/in.
• Mute or unmute VoiceOver: Three-finger double-tap. If both VoiceOver and Zoom
are enabled, use the three-finger triple-tap gesture.
• Turn the screen curtain on or off: Three-finger triple-tap. If both VoiceOver
and Zoom are enabled, use the three-finger quadruple-tap gesture.
• 3D Touch: Place your finger on an app and press, do not tap, this brings up a
shortcut menu depending on the app. For example, on the phone app it brings up
your favorites so you can call them quickly. 3D Touch is available on devices
like the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 7s, 7s Plus.
For iPad only
• Switch to next or previous app: Four-finger swipe left or right.
• Go to home screen: 5 fingers pinch in: put all five fingers on the screen and
pinch them in until they are all touching and it is like tapping the home
button once.

Re: warning: if you like chatting do NOT update skypes latest version

2017-06-30 Thread rajmund
Hi Siegard, Well, they better work harder. I just opened app store, went in
updates, and the last thing I see updated was dropbox, the 28th.

still no signs of skype. If they are intending on supporting IOS9, and I was
incorrect, as it stands, at the time of writing, while may not be an
intentional issue, skype will still not update on the 64 bit IOS9 devices. So I
wonder. Did they intentionally drop 32 bit, or is that yet another bug? as for
what'sApp, haven't redownloaded it, for I'm on the public beta, so can't
download it...Sent from an iPad Air

Touch status bar and 3 finger flick up for control centre.

How to Tell if Chime is On or Off?

2017-06-30 Thread Dani Pagador
Hi, Everyone.
I'm using the Chime app, and up till a few days ago it was chiming on
the quarter hour. I haven't changed anything, but have noticed the
quarter hour chime is gone. How do I tell whether something's been
turned off? I don't fuss with the app very often, so can't remember
how the on/off feature works in it.

Thanks,
Dani

Re: Slightly expanded copy, RE: I'm not sure this is complete, RE: latest ios list of jestures

2017-06-30 Thread Ioana Gandrabur
Hi,
2 comments about this great list:
• Open or close multitask pane: Four-finger, swipe up or down.
This only works on the iPad, or at least I could not get this to work on the
iphone.
Touch status bar with 1 finger and then swipe down with 2 fingers starts the
""speak screen" function. THis allows you to read something even when iPhone is
locked.
Finally the flick up and down with one finger also presents list of actions
that can be performed on an item when available. See "arranging apps on home
screen" or "deleting mails" etc.\

How to Dismiss Ads on BibleGateway App?

2017-06-30 Thread Dani Pagador
Hi, Everyone.
I opened the BibleGateway app this morning and VO was reading the
verse of the day. The eading was interrupted by an ad about finding
out your credit score. I couldn't figure out how to close the ad, and
can't figure out how to use the app anymore without being interrupted
by advertisements.

Does anyone have ideas, or suggestions for other Bible study apps?

Thanks,
Dani

RE: warning: if you like chatting do NOT update skypes latest version

2017-06-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Rajmund,

As far as Skype only supporting devices running iOS 10, this is incorrect as of
the last update (yesterday), , see below from the app store page:

What's New in Version 8.1.2
Issue resolved: Skype now supports all iOS 9.0 (or later) iPhones.

This would indicate that it was a bug in the initial release of Skype 8.x for
iOS.
The fact is that this version of Skype is not very nice to say the least. The
few reviews that have been posted say the same, people hate it and the one
reviewer hit the nail on the head and summarized it well: "Looks bad, slow,
glitchy/buggy, hard to navigate, confusing, and overdone".
I think there are people on the team who thought they are releasing something
super-cool and new, instead they made it overly complicated and difficult. I
give them credit somewhat for still keeping most of it accessible, the chat
issue of course needs to be fixed, hopefully they listen to the reviews and
revert back to a more iOS like look, this is not it at all with these buttons
and tabs at the top etc. I really like how simple Whats App is, only problem is
that I can't use it to call regular phone numbers which is all I use Skype for
these days. When it comes to wanting to send text or voice messages Whats App I
think is the ticket and it works just as well for audio calls and I assume
video calls.

Sieghard

hi,
braille screen input doesn't register in the text field at all. also, if you
double tap and hold your message, you now have more actions than in the past,
or at least, the actions are now in the same menu.
PS. they've dropped support for 32 bit devices, and anything below IOS10...

Slightly expanded copy, RE: I'm not sure this is complete, RE: latest ios list of jestures

2017-06-30 Thread Richard Turner
VoiceOver Gestures
Navigate and read
• Select and speak the item: Touch with one finger.
• Select the next or previous item: Swipe right or left with one finger.
• Select an item on the rotor: Swipe up or down with one finger. Depends on
the rotor setting.
• Scroll one page up or down at a time: Three-finger swipe up or down.
• Three-finger swipe right or left. For example): Go to the next or previous
page (on the Home screen.
• Open or close multitask pane: Four-finger, swipe up or down.
• Switch to next or previous app: Four-finger swipe left or right.
• For iPad only: Go to home screen: 5 fingers pinch in: put all five fingers on
the screen and pinch them in until they are all touching and it is like tapping
the home button once.

I think there are one or two more missing.
Like I said, I was not sure it was complete, so I was right, grin.
