How different is the interface between the free online version and the fully
paid version?
Also, what can you not do with the online version?

There is also a free online version of nearby explorer for the IPhone. I used
the free version for about a month or so before I purchased the paid version.
I like it very much. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it works well for
me for both walking and in a vehicle. I also use BlindSquare which is cheaper
but I don’t know if it will work where you are. Good luck.

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is any way to try out Nearby Explorer without
buying it outright immediately. I am not asking for a very extensive trial
period, for me even a 1-day trial would be enough to figure out if I actually
like the interface and how it presents information. I have used the Seeing Eye
GPS app, but I just realized not that long ago that the 3-year subscription I
had bought expired last January. My situation is that I don’t need such a
dedicated GPS app very often, I live in a small town and have a dog. It’s
extremely rare that I need it here. Mostly where I have used it was during
trips to Vancouver, Calgary or other places so it’s one of those things, don’t
need it often but when I need it it’s nice to havde.
Nearby Explorer is of course a lot less expensive when it comes to an outright
purchase, but I have heard from some people that the UI is a bit clunky and
complicated so it would be nice to be able to try it out. Feedback from people
who love it will probably downplay any negative aspects of the app and then of
course different users will feel differently about how things are done in this
app.

Sieghard

RE: apple watch series 3

2018-08-27 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
There are of course also rumours that Apple will release a completely
redesigned series of iPads with edge to edge screens, no home button, possibly
no 3.5mm headphone jack and Face Id and Rob from the Today in iOS Podcast seems
to think that maybe the September announcement will focus on iPhones and there
will be another mid or late October announcement about new iPads and the new
Apple Watch.
Personally I don’t think that will be the case, I don’t think Apple has enough
to talk about if all they introduce are new iPhones in September and I think
the new Apple Watch and hopefully second generation Airpods will be part of the
September announcement. After all, there are hardly any new Wow features in iOS
12 which they could spend a lot of time on. I’m not saying that is such a bad
thing since for once it seems that the initial release of iOS 12 will be a
stabil release without any of the major almost deal-breaker bugs we saw in the
initial release of iOS 11 and iOS 10.
Apple is up to 9 public betas as of today and I think there are 2 more
developer betas for iOS 12 and there could be one more before the Gold Master,
this more than they have ever done.
As per Today in iOS the last 4 or 5 betas have introduced almost no new
features, just bug fixes, small tweeks and performance optimizations.

I believe there is a free online version, which of course uses data.
Otherwise, on iOS, the paid version downloads the maps to your device. You
can download the map of Canada separately from the US map. I believe the
map of Canada is about 1 or 1.2 gb, where as the US map is close to 3 gb.

This information won’t be on the Apple website until the official announcement,
but if you search the web you can find links. Today there were a lot of leaks
dropped, such as the official announce date will be September 12, and what they
expect Apple to announce. The Apple Series 4 is expected to be announced at
that time.

RE: apple watch series 3

2018-08-27 Thread joedinero68
Typically Apple makes their announcement in September. I am anticipating an
announcement for an event in the next couple of weeks and devices released at
the end of next month. Personally I would wait until the new device is released
and look for a Series 3 on Black Friday. There have been some awesome deals in
prefious years for the previous model of the Apple Watch. That is how I picked
up my Series 1 watch.

Subject: Nearby Explorer

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is any way to try
out Nearby Explorer without buying it outright
immediately. I am not asking for a very
extensive trial period, for me even a 1-day
trial would be enough to figure out if I
actually like the interface and how it presents
information. I have used the Seeing Eye GPS app,
but I just realized not that long ago that the
3-year subscription I had bought expired last
January. My situation is that I don’t need
such a dedicated GPS app very often, I live in a
small town and have a dog. It’s extremely rare
that I need it here. Mostly where I have used it
was during trips to Vancouver, Calgary or other
places so it’s one of those things, don’t
need it often but when I need it it’s nice to havde.
Nearby Explorer is of course a lot less
expensive when it comes to an outright purchase,
but I have heard from some people that the UI is
a bit clunky and complicated so it would be nice
to be able to try it out. Feedback from people
who love it will probably downplay any negative
aspects of the app and then of course different
users will feel differently about how things are done in this app.

Sieghard

I believe there is a free online version, which of course uses data.
Otherwise, on iOS, the paid version downloads the maps to your device. You can
download the map of Canada separately from the US map. I believe the map of
Canada is about 1 or 1.2 gb, where as the US map is close to 3 gb.

I use the gmail app because it support push which apple mail on iOS do not.
At least push does not work correctly with gmail accounts currently
when using the apple email client on iOS.
I also prefer how the gmail app displays email threads compared to the
built in apple email app.
