Call block feature in recent calls

2019-11-04 Thread Fanus Buys
Hello list
I did not know about this feature. I assume the number is blocked as long as
one keeps it in the recents section, i.e. when one deletes it from there the
blocking is gone?

Fanus

Re: Can't Reboot iPhone

2019-11-04 Thread kelby carlson
I know you do because I have had an iPhone 7 for 3 years. The problem is that
pressing that combination now also turns the volume all the way down.

Hi Kelby,

I think you press Volume Down and the side button together to do a reset on the
iPHone 7, but I would suggest checking the user guide to be sure or Googling it.

Best,
Anna

Braille Screen Input Strange Noises

2019-11-04 Thread kelby carlson

Sent from my iPhoneApologies for so many questions in a row today. After the
updape, I notice that while I type in Braille Screen Input, my phone makes odd
noises, rather like bubbles popping. Has anyone else heard this? I went into
Braille Screen Input's septings, but didn't find anything that seemed related.

Re: Can't Reboot iPhone

2019-11-04 Thread Wayne Merritt
On the iPhone 7, I believe you press and hold the Home and Power/Side
buttons for 10 to 15 seconds. This will reboot and reset the phone.
You will not lose any data or apps from doing this.

Re: Reminders App is it me or it?

2019-11-04 Thread Robin Frost
Hi,
Yes I’ve composed reminders via Siri but getting the phone to set an alarm for
a time and day doesn’t seem as easy with Siri but I’m glad that we once again
can do so in the edit details area of a reminder just as we always had before.
Take good care.

Re: Customizing Sounds in VoiceOver, No Preview?

2019-11-04 Thread Richard Turner
Hi,
You are probably hearing them, but they are not very loud, and are extremely
brief.
The customization seems to only be on or off.
If you go to the no more items, or whatever it said, you know the kind of clunk
you hear if you flick and there is no where to go? That one you can hear pretty
well.
You could increase the sound volume in those settings too.
I wish they would let you pick different sounds but so far, you only get on or
off.

FYI, my Bose Frames work perfectly channeling both Voiceover and all the
clicks and whilrly sounds through the ear pieces. At leased I have a
solution for the clicks and sounds that don't play through my hearing aids

I'm assuming you're using an iPhone 8 or later. You can bring up the screen
where you turn off the phone by tapping and releasing Volume Up, then tapping

you do these same gestures but hold the side button for 10 seconds, the phone

I am in Canada.

Can I book flight by using my airmiles in the AirMiles App?

If yes, how can that be done, please?

Thanks!

Customizing Sounds in VoiceOver, No Preview?

2019-11-04 Thread kelby carlson
I finally updated to iOS 13, and I really like the idea of sound customization.
However, when I go to the sounds page in VO's settings, go to a sound, and
double tap "preview", I hear no sound. Is there a way to fix this?

Re: a question about how sensitive an iPhone is to touch

2019-11-04 Thread dani pagador
Hi, Josh.
Yes, the iPhone's touch screen is definitely sensitive to any kind of
skin contact. I've done stuff inadvertently because of how sensitive
the touch screen is. The screen sensitivity is a good thing sometimes,
like when I need to cover it with said Ziploc bag because of not
wanting to dirty it in the kitchen. But it's a PITA when you're
wanting to pick it up and move it and your palm hovers over it and
kicks you out of your book or music app when that's the last thing you
needed.

More Later,
Dani

Re: Apple Newsroom: Apple reveals new AirPods Pro, available October 30

2019-11-04 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello All,

I just got my Air Pods Pro’s in the mail over the weekend. I am impressed with
them. The noice canceling feature is interesting and it will take some getting
used to. The Transparency mode is really cool. It allows your audio such as
music or even Voiceover to be heard with the audio around you ducking under it
so you can hear your surroundings. From what I can tell you only lose about 20
mins off of the full charge when either mode is active. You get the same
battery life as the original Air Pods. I find the Pros to be much more
comfortable and I don’t have any soreness after wearing them for a lengthily
listen to my favorite music. They come with 3 different silicone ear tips for a
customizable fit. The audio is 100 times better then the original Air Pods.
The new H1 chip for Siri and audio makes it so there is very little or even no
lag for voiceover users. Gestures and what is spoken are in pretty good sync.

So far I really like them a lot.

I think the app has become rather complicated. I use Siri if I am going to set

I'd call Apple Accessibility and see if they can make sense out of it.

Re: I updated spotify and now can't read daly mix descriptions

2019-11-04 Thread Aedan Something
Hi Shermeen, that lesson is hard to learn for everyone. If spotify doesn’t help
a good idea might be to give them a low star rating on the app store. Maybe if
we treat accessibility issues like the real problems they are developers will
listen to us.
Good luck, Aedan
