Sharing with youtube contacts

2020-01-26 Thread TaraPrakash
Dear all.
Earlier when I would share a youtube content, the first option used to be the
possible youtube users I may be knowing. That option does not appear for me now
in the youtube app. I never used that option of sharing things with youtube
users or adding contacts to my youtube list. I do understand there is something
called youtube chat and that you can communicate with other users of youtube.
The questions:
1. How can I share content with youtube users in my contact if I do not want to
use other sharing options like, email, message, facebook, twitter etc.?
2. How and where do I add contacts for such youtube sharing? I can find an
inbox tab but not any place where the contacts can be found or added.
I am using the latest youtube version with the latest ios.

Will appreciate any suggestions.

I just got the Plantronics M180 single earpiece today. I tested it out
listening to my Audible book. Is there a way to start and stop media playback
from the earpiece? The big button makes a tone when pressed, but doesn’t pause
my book, so I’m thinking that is just for answering calls. Am I missing

RE: Bluetooth keyboard

2020-01-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Ed,

Cherry MX is the brand of switches, they have Blue, brown, Red, Black and so on.
I like the clicky Blue switches, but as Christopher said if you like quiet then
Brown is probably better but it’s not my thing.
When I first looked at these they were about $20 or $30 Canadian less than now,
but ever since they jumped up in price I have never seen them on sale, not even
around Black Friday.

I have the Professional 4 which does have the key labels. I am not sure why a
blind person would care whether the keyboard has key labels or not, but in my
case my sighted staff also uses them and most of them aren’t good enough
typists to do without key labels.
I think when I looked at them last time the Ultimate which doesn’t have key
labels actually was even more expensive than the Professional 4 and unless
there is something else different abvout it I think given the fact they don’t
have to put key labels on it should make it less expensive and not more
expensive.

I wish they would do a keyboard just like the Professional 4 as a wireless
keyboard with something like Logitech’s Lightspeed technology as well as
Bluetooth, that would for me be the absolute in keyboard design and
functionality.

Best regards,
Sieghard

I prefer the Cherry MS Blue switches myself, but if you prefer the quieter
switches then you'll want to go with the Cherry MS Brown switches. I have the
Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate myself. The Ultimate has blank key caps, which is
supposed to improve typing speed, but I just think it looks cool! I haven't
seen the Das keyboards go on sale myself, but I haven't really been keeping an
eye on that. You only buy a Das keyboard every 10 years or so.

It has no backlighting, it uses a USB dongle for connectivity to the PC which

I use this keyboard as my main office keyboard, it is big and heavy and not

Re: Third-party keyboard question

2020-01-26 Thread Richard Turner
I've never had this happen.
This sounds like a settings issue.
Which layout are you using in mBraille?
I use away mode as I find the smart layout frustrating, and my SE is too small
for the table top layout.

Well, that will vary depending on what apps you have installed.
The easiest way for you to find out is to open the app and explore the various

If you have more than 2 keyboards the keyboard button doesn’t cycle through
them it simply toggles between the two you last used.
Instead you have to double tap and hold on the keyboard icon and without
letting go drag your finger up, you find all the keyboards there, once you are

Hi,

I’m working on learning Spanish on my iPhone. So I added a Spanish keyboard
which makes three keyboard options that should be available to me. However,
once I select the Spanish keyboard I am unable to return to the English
keyboard. The choices cycle from Spanish to emogee and back to Spanish. I see
that English should be the next keyboard in the rotation but I can never get
back to it unless I uninstall the Spanish keyboard.

Am I doing something wrong or missing some essential step?

Any help appreciated.

RE: Recording a phone call on the iPhone

2020-01-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Yes, these apps exist, but they all require you do actually first call a phone
number where you are connected to a recording server, then once the recording
has started, you then use the 3-way calling feature of your phone to call the
other person and merge the calls. If your student were to call you first, you
would have to put them on hold while you call the number of the service you
use, then once connected you again merge the calls.
This is why I said sometimes low-tech is an easier solution and, in this case,
certainly a cheaper one. Of course I assume you have a second iOS device,
digital recorder or tape recorder you can use to record the call which you
conduct via speakerphone. I assume if you wanted to archive and send the
recording to your student a digital recording of it would be better than a
recording on a physical cassette so another digital recording device whether
digital voice recorder or another iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is needed.
In Windows 10 you can also record directly to the PC using the built-in Voice
Recorder app. In fact, I just tried this out the other day and it's a really
neat and simple app which is fully accessible.
Once you open it and start recording with Alt + R you can stop recording with
Alt + S, you can set markers during your recording with Alt + A and you can of
course first mute Jaws with Jaws Key + Spacebar followed by S if you don't want
Jaws to be heard during the recording. When Jaws is muted you can still use Alt
+ A to set a marker or Alt + S to stop recording and
Your recordings are stored in your default Documents folder in a Sound
Recordings sub folder which will be created for you the first time you make a
recording.
There is also an item called "More App Bar button" in the voice recorder, it's
a little menu and if you have a recording in your list of recordings, that menu
contains a "Open File Location" option which will open the folder where your
recordings are and it will in fact place you on whichever recording in your
list your are on.
You can also trim, rename, delete and share recordings although so far sharing
to people or by Mail seems to want to use the Mail app which I don't have
configured since I use Outlook and if I go to the Share to Apps the only ones
in my list there are OneNote and Mail and there is a link to get more apps in
the Microsoft Store.
I guess I would just have to go to my sound recordings folder and manually
attach the recording to an email in Outlook if I want to share it that way.
I assume the quality of your recordings depends on the microphone you use, I
just tried ti with my alptop's built-in microphone and it sounded quite good.

Best regards,
Sieghard

Hi Kristeen:

The alternative ways to record calls on iPhone are few apps which you can
download from appstore. They are paid apps as followws:-
1. Tape a call pro.
2. Call recorder plus.
3. No notes.
You can check the reviews of each of them and then can chose the best to
download.

Setting up a multiple month for minor using Siri on the iPhone?

2020-01-26 Thread dacia . luck
As the subject line says, is there a way to set up a multiple month reminder
using Siri on the iPhone? For example, I have a meeting that occurs the fourth
Thursday of every month, and I want to set reminders for it. Obviously, the
fourth Thursday is not the same date every month. So I’m not sure if this is
possible.

Re: How to set up multiple reminders using Siri on the Iphone

2020-01-26 Thread Richard Turner
I would use the calendar and set an alert for however much time ahead of the
event you want.
In the custom reoccurrences you can set an appointment for monthly, on the 4th
thursday.

Re: Recording a phone call on the iPhone

2020-01-26 Thread PRAMIT BHARGAVA
Hi Kristeen:

The alternative ways to record calls on iPhone are few apps which you
can download from appstore. They are paid apps as followws:-
1. Tape a call pro.
2. Call recorder plus.
3. No notes.
You can check the reviews of each of them and then can chose the best
to download.

Regards
Pramit.

RE: Recording a phone call on the iPhone

2020-01-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Most Voip services can record, but as Richard said, if you don’t have or use
them the easiest is to use another iOS device, a digital recorder or a good old
fashion tape recorder if you still have one of them.
Yes, it’s low-tech, but sometimes low-tech works best.

The best way is to have a separate recording device next to the phone with the
phone on speaker.
There apparently are some subscription services that record the call on their
cloud service that you can access later, but you cannot record with the
built-in microphone while on a phone call.
At least, that is my understanding.

Recording a phone call on the iPhone

2020-01-26 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I know this has probably been discussed. Try to find it within yourselves to
forgive. I was hoping to record phone conversations as a way to help someone
learn. This would work very well for them. What do I need to do this?

Thanks.

Kristeen
