RE: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

T-Mobile may or may not have good coverage. Their customer service is not as
good as Verizon either.

Why in the world would you want to leave Verizon?
Verizon has the best network.
I found this to be true time and time again.
Thanks in advance

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-06 Thread Shirley Baker
I tried to trade my 6 with Verizon and they couldn't take it because I had
filed a claim with Asurion because my other phone got damaged so when I tried
to trade the one Asurion gave me, it showed up as being stolen, even though
Verizon Wireless knew I did not steal it. They told me that sometimes happens
with refurbished phones but I will be able to trade my 6S plus in and I plan on
paying the rest off so I don't have to pay for a new phone over 24 months or
however long that might be after the trade in.

I was fortunate, that I was able to pay off my iPhone 8 all in one go.
It was pretty expensive, but I figured the cost was worth it not to
have to pay it off over time. I have little enough money each month
to use as it is.

Hi all. Our regular meeting is scheduled for this coming Monday. Sorry for
the late notice. Things have been a little crazy around here. I’ve just
brought home a new dog and Paul was admitted to Mercy West hospital today.
He’s pretty sick right now and we don’t know exactly what’s going on.

We’ll have a round table discussion perhaps talking about our favorite or most
useful apps.

Pizza is $5 and if you want to purchase a drink from Carol and Mike it’s 50
cents. Please let me know in advance what kind of drink you’d like. There is
coke, diet coke and coke zero.

Please let me know if you plan to come so I have an accurate count.

God bless!

Please let me know if you plan to come so I have an accurate count.

RE: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-06 Thread Anne West
Verizon phones have a trade in value to reduce the monthly payments. When I
traded my SE for my iPhone 8, I was given a $175.00 trade in value for the SE.
My monthly payments have been $7.00 less than the full monthly payment. The
catch is that the full amount of the remaining payments for the new phone has
to be paid in full if paid off early for a new phone. I have 2 more payments to
go on my iPhone 8 and I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. I like my phone.
So many companies nickel and dime us and a bargain sometimes isn't a bargain.

As for tMobile, reception is very poor all over Connecticut. I have may friends
who dumped them. Their cells are not very good here. I can't speak for other
states however.

I've been happy except for the amount of money I've had to pay. I was thinking
if a person switched carriers and they still owed for a piece of equipment,
sometimes the new carrier will buy them out so they don't have to finish paying
off that equipment. Isn't that right? I have the family plan with Verizon now.
If I didn't have Nathan on my plan, it probably wouldn't cost me as much. That
auto plan sounds like that might be the way to go. We're thinking about getting
the new phones by trading our old ones in and paying the rest off in cash so we
won't have so much to pay. Before we didn't have the money to pay the rest so
we had to do it on a month to month basis.

I’d try an apple magic keyboard,

You can run them from a computer with a usb to lightening cable,

So I can only assume they might work with a lightening to lightening cable
connecting the board to your phone.

Hi All,

I've been toying with using a lightning port powered keyboard with my SE
iPhone, but it seems that the keyboards I'm finding are mainly geared
towards iPads. I have a blue tooth keyboard, but would like to use the
lightning keyboard when we're on the road, this way I can keep it in the
vehicles and not have to mess with batteries. Does anyone have any
recommendations for such a keyboard? All input will be greatly appreciated
and graciously accepted. Thanks mooy moocho.

There is some debate to this, but I have read that at&t actually has the best
network. It's probably a toss up between at&t and Verizon. One thing is for
sure, t-mobile definitely does not have the best coverage although their
service is really good. I switched from t-mobile to at&t a couple years ago
because of t-mobile's smaller network.

Re: app specific programming of voiceover behaviour

2020-03-06 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello,

Yes, this can be done by going into the phone settings application and then
down to accessibility, into VoiceOver and then to the activities option. You
can now follow the prompts and set up voice specific settings for different
functions such as reading a book in the Kindle app.

I hope this helps,

Ed

Re: AirPods Pro Volume Issue

Hey Brandon,

I have noticed the behavior when noise canceling is turned on. I have found
that if you use the transparency mode while talking on the phone it’s a cleaner
call for everyone involved.

I hope this helps,

Ed

RE: the audible app for iPhone, in the UK

2020-03-06 Thread Alan Lemly
Dave,

Try signing out of your Audible account with the app and then signing back in.
Hopefully, when you open a title you wish to add to your library, a button
labeled Add to library 1 credit will now be available. Audible is bad about
fixing an issue but not making it stick after you update the app again. I
signed out of my US Audible account a couple of months ago to address this
issue of not being able to purchase a new title with a credit due to the needed
button not being available. When I signed out of my account and then signed
back in, lo and behold the needed button was there. I've updated my Audible app
a couple of times since then and when I drilled down on a new title just now,
the button to purchase with a credit was gone again and all I had was a button
to add it to my Wish list. Signing out and in again corrected the problem for
me so hopefully it will for you too in the UK.

They don't make signing out very easy in my opinion. Here are the steps I
followed to do so:

1. From the Audible Home screen which can be reached by executing the
leftmost button on the bottomline menu double tap the Profile button in the
upper left corner.

2. Execute the Settings button in the upper right corner of the profile
screen which opens.

3. At the very bottom in the middle of the bottom line is a sign out button
which you should execute.

4. When you sign back in and open a new title, hopefully the Add to library
with a credit button will now be available.

Let us know if this works for you in the UK.

Alan Lemly

Did you look for it in the Discover Tab?

I'm in the US, but we are able to do this if you have credits available.

This assumes the book is currently available and not a preorder.

You may want to contact their customer service. I do not know the phone number
for the UK.

Re: app specific programming of voiceover behaviour

2020-03-06 Thread Richard Turner
Yes. It is called Activities.
In the VoiceOver settings screen, you will find it just after Commands.
Programming, seems to be the default.
Read the description after the Programming button, then next is the Add
Activity button.
First though, you will want to go into the Rotor settings and add Activities to
the rotor in case the automatic Activity doesn't work.
You are supposed to be able to create a set of conditions that when a specific
app is loaded, the settings change, but I have not explored this much.
You can at least pick an activity with the rotor.
HTH,
