RE: fantastical question

2020-08-12 Thread Alan Lemly
Paul,

I'll add to Richard's comments. Double tap on the App Store home screen button.
In the upper right corner of the screen that opens should be a My account
button which you should double tap. On the screen which opens, you should be
able to swipe to subscriptions and double tap and review any subscribed apps.

Thanks. I’m trying to do what you suggested, but when I find the updates button
and double tap it, it just shows me a list of current updates and the apps that
have been previously updated. I can’t find anything about a subscriptions
button.

Thanks for your help.

Paul,

Single finger triple tap the App Store icon on your home screen, swipe to
Updates and double tap in the context menu that opens, swipe to Subscriptions
and double tap on the screen that opens. Any app you are paying for over time
should appear on the screen that opens.

I just updated my fantastical calendar. I haven’t seen anything about a monthly
charge for it.

If there is one, I want to get rid of it. I reY do like the app, but it’s not
worth that. Where do I find the information about whether I’m being charged or
not? Thanks.

Thanks.

Unless, you specifically activated the trial, at the end of which, you will be
charged, you probably did not sign up.
You can check any subscriptions by going either into the settings within the
Fantastical app, or go to settings on your iPhone and double tap on your name
at the top, and look for subscriptions.

Paul,

Single finger triple tap the App Store icon on your home screen, swipe to
Updates and double tap in the context menu that opens, swipe to Subscriptions
and double tap on the screen that opens. Any app you are paying for over time
should appear on the screen that opens.

2020-08-12 Thread Larry Wayland
There is definitely more than one model of the IRobot’s. There is also a big
differences in cost as well. From what I can tell about IRobot’s concern about
accessibility I would think all the equipment is accessible.

They even have a department for educational robots for kids through, I think
college. It seems they are even trying to keep those robots accessible as well.
I am talking about the parts and the programming of the robots. I am not
totally sure about that but from what I have read on their web site it looks
like they are trying.

Re: new SE not announcing notifications and calls when in the holster

2020-08-12 Thread Gerardo Corripio
It’s normal behavior. When placing an iPhone facedown on a table (or like in a
holster), only the notification sounds are heard.

Re: new SE not announcing notifications and calls when in the holster

2020-08-12 Thread Dan

I have been trying different things and have decided that
this is an issue caused by the proximity sensor.  I can hold my
hand over the sensor and it does the same thing.

Is there a place in settings where the proximity sensor can
be adjusted?  I'd like to play with it to see if I can make my
phone announce calls and notifications even when in the holster.

Thanks.

IHeart Radios music?

2020-08-12 Thread Gerardo Corripio
Could any of you guys who use IHeart Radio, explain how does the music area of
the app work? The other day, while listening to a radio station, I
double-tapped on the name of the song that was playing, and it took me to some
sort of a music library? Thus what I’m unclear is does it cost extra to take
advantage of its music? If it’s indeed free, what all can you do with IHart
Radio’s music? I’ve mainly been using it for radio stations and podcasts.
Thanks for any info.

Re: Robot vacuums and the iPhone

2020-08-12 Thread Esther
Hi, Lelia,

I have the Roomba and really like it. (Note the spelling because it's not
spelled the way the dance is spelled(! It hooks up to WiFi on your phone and I
find the app to be accessible. It even goes under furniture and if an area is
particularly too dirty, it will go over it twice. I have a little bird and
when it goes under his cage, which is on a stand, I often wonder what he thinks
of it! Haha! Anyway, good luck with your vacuum search!

Creating Events Quickly in iOS Calendar

2020-08-12 Thread K. Scott Carlson
Hello,

I'm trying to make better use of my calendar, but I find the iOS calendar takes
forever to use. Adding an event, especially at a location, takes so much time
it is almost not worth it. I know FantastiCal has excellent natural language
support; at one time I think it was a one-time purchase, but now it is a
subscription-based model and I really don't like subscription apps outside of
streaming. Are there any ways to speed up adding calendar events to the normal
iOS calendar, or any other free/one-time purchase apps that have more robust
natural language input or are just more efficient?

It is weird that you are having such issues with the Shark Clean app. We have a
Shark Ion and I am able to fully operate it from the iPhone app.

I would not recommend the Shark vacuums. The app isn't all that great, and even
crashes when trying to input the Wi-fi password. I can't set a schedule either.
The basic functions, clean, pause, find shark, and return to dock, I can do.

When the battery runs down and the thing stops in the middle of

it has been cleaning a little over an hour, one of us babysits it so
we can hear it stop ... somewhere.

Re: Robot vacuums and the iPhone

2020-08-12 Thread Ann Byrne
We have a Roomba something or other. The phone app is supposed to
report the status of the machine. Alexa is also supposed to control
the machine. Neither device reports correctly whether the roomba is
charged, charging, or connected to iCloud. All the buttons on the
phone are labeled; the app just doesn't give correct information.

Additionally, the charging contacts are very temperamental, needing
to be scrubbed every couple of weeks or so. I hope there is something better.

All of that said, I am amazed at how much stuff--mostly dog fur--the
Roomba picks up every day.

Re: Robot vacuums and the iPhone

2020-08-12 Thread Devin Prater
I would not recommend the Shark vacuums. The app isn't all that great, and
even crashes when trying to input the Wi-fi password. I can't set a
schedule either. The basic functions, clean, pause, find shark, and return
to dock, I can do.

I don't know about others, but the IRobot app works great on the Iphone. They
even have find the robot button. When pressed the robot will play a sound so
you can locate it when it stops and needs to be helped.

I can use Siri to listen to voicemails without any problems.
It is only when I try to listen to them through the phone app that I have
problems.

For those who have never used Siri to do this, here is what you would say:

Say, Play Voicemails.
Siri will tell you how many total voice mails you have, both new and saved.
Then ask you if you want her to play the first one, which will be the first
unplayed one. Once done one, she will ask if you want her to play the next one,
which would include any voicemails you have saved.

Say, new voicemails?
Siri will tell you if you have any new voicemails and offer to play the first
one. At the end of playing each one, she ask you if you want to call back or
play the next one.

You can also play one that you have saved, previously listened to but did not
delete. For example, lets say I have a voicemail from Edward that I listened to
but did not delete yet.
Say, Play voicemail from Edward.
Siri will tell you that you have no new voicemails from Edward, but you do have
a saved one and do you want her to play it.
Just say yes to play that saved voicemail.

Hope this has been helpful.

Chris

Yes, there are Bible Concordances and others:
concordance
SEE SYNONYMS FOR concordance ON
THESAURUS.COM
noun

  1.  agreement; concord;
harmony:the concordance of the membership.
  2. an alphabetical index of the principal words of a book, as of the Bible,
with a reference to the passage in which each occurs.
3.. an alphabetical index of subjects or topics.
4. (in genetic studies) the degree of similarity in a pair of twins with
respect to the presence or absence of a particular disease or trait.

"He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass
himself,” and we forget that only grace can break the cycle of ancient hatreds

others, I’ve never once regretted extending it.)" - Edward Herbert

You may want to check out this one that uses the Strong's numbering. If you
know the number for the Greek or Hebrew, you can just enter the digits or you
can look up the English word, and then in the verses, you will have to hear the
numbers after each word, but you can find quite a bit of information; and it is
free.

among peoples. (It is notable that while I have regretted not granting grace to
others, I’ve never once regretted extending it.)" - Edward Herbert

Re: Concordance that Works with VO and iPhone?

2020-08-12 Thread Michael Feir
Well folks, I think your best bet would be to find a bible app which
includes a study bible offering that feature. Word of Promise has a study
bible available. The other really popular bible app is called Youversion.
There are doubtless other accessible bible apps. It's probably worth a
visit to Applevis to look in their app directory. Also, there may be web
sites which offer this capability. Google would likely be the best approach
here. Best of luck.

Re: Bluetooth Connection

2020-08-12 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I'm not sure what is happening. My google home used to disconnect
from bluetooth all the time. It doesn't do this any more. I'd forget
your mini from your iPhone, then reconnect and see if this helps. I'd
also check in the google home app and reassign the google mini with
your iPhone.
