Is there a blue tooth earpiece that can pair with more than one

2020-11-28 Thread 'Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.' via VIPhone
hi,
I have had the following problem in the Apple news today tab since Thursday. Is
anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know what the issue is?

when I open the Apple news app, and select the first tab, the today view, the
only activity indicator I get is that Apple news today is loading. But it never
rolls over to any news. It previously has worked quite well.

Does anybody know anything about this?

Thanks in advance, Keith.

Think of it as voiceover lite. It’s invoked by a two finger swipe down. It has
its own controller That pops up when in use. It can be turned off under

RE: Logitech H800 and bluetooth battery showing up on iPhone

2020-11-28 Thread Alan Lemly
Richard,

That is very curious. When I connect my Tribit MaxSound Plus Bluetooth speaker
to my SE 2020, the status bar says Bluetooth headphones connected and gives the
battery charge. The battery widget on my today view says Tribit MaxSound Plus
headphones and provides the battery charge too. Other than calling the speaker
headphones, both the status bar and the widget give the battery level. Funny
that my Apple Airpods second generation state the battery level as 0% in the
status bar when they are connected.

When I check my status bar while the h800 headphones are connected, it says
bluetooth headset connect 0 percent charge.

This is while I am listening to them, so obviously they are not dead.

I've added the battery widget to the Today screen but it only shows the watch
and my phone.

Am I missing something, or do these just not show up correctly?

It should be very seamless, just hold your phone right next to the top of the
HomePod and it should take over playing whatever you were playing on your
iPhone.

Hi all, there are features of the Homepod Mini that interest me, but honestly,
it is mostly for the airplay capabilities. I want to use my i'devices and play
from the apps. Pandora, Bard Moble, Amazon Music. Would you say this is pretty
seemless '? Airplaying music via Apple TV is a pain.

Thanks,

RE: Opinions on HomePod mini?

2020-11-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Apparently the new Nest Audio speakers which sell for the same price as the
HomePod Mini are supposed to sound very good for that price range of speakers.
I think for somebody who has a Sonos system set up with Alexa there is not as
much need for a HomePod, you can set up Apple Music as your default service in
the Alexa app so I can ask any of my Sonos speakers to play whatever music I
want to hear and it will come from Apple Music.
Of course Alexa does most of your home automation if you are into this sort of
thing, all of our lights are Philips Hue lights and we have a connected
Honeywell T5 thermostat and all of that works through Alexa.
In the bathroom a set of Sonos One speakers are all we have, in the kitchen we
have a set of Sonos One speakers as well as a Google, can't remember the name,
but it's one with the video/display which my wife likes. In the bedroom we have
a set of Sonos Play 5, but since those don't have built-in Alexa, we also have
a stand-alone Echo Dot, it's an older one, but I just ordered one of the new
4th generation Echo Dot with clock, again so my wife can easily take a look if
she wants to check the time. We also have a Google Home Mini in the bedroom
because when it comes to asking questions like a phone number for a particular
business, general facts or even making phone calls, I find the Google Home
Mini/Google Assistant is much better at it.
In the living room we have a Sonos surround system, currently the original
Playbar with a first generation Sonos Sub and a set of Play 1 for rear
speakers, but I just bought my wife a nice new 55 inch OLED TV for Christmas,
it's an LG, so we will also upgrade the Sonos because we would want the full
Dolby Atmos experience and you only get this with the new Arc soundbar. I still
have one old Sonos Connect which I can use to get a 30% discount on a new
product so I'll use it to buy a new surround package which will save me almost
$700 Canadian and I will probably sell my Playbar/Sub/Play 1 speakers as a
package which should finance about half of the remaining purchase price. We
then have an Echo Show 8 in the living room because of our Ring Doorbell and
because it's so easy to just say "Alexa, connect to Front Door".
When Apple announced the HomePod Mini I pretty much said that for that price I
would buy one, but for now I won't, beyond giving me SIRI access which I do
have through my phone it won't really offer anything, it would just be another
device we could ask to turn on the lights or change the temperature and we can
do that already with Alexa and Google Assistant. If you don't yet have any
smart speakers or maybe just one Echo or Google, then a set of HomePod Mini in
stereo mode would probably be quite nice.

Best regards,
Sieghard

them more when Siri gets better and actually playing stuff I want her to play
that’s not part of Apple Music. Stuff that I can easily get played on Google

compare the homePod mini to the homePod? Obviously, it’s not going to have the

that HomePod mini to others in its class if you have any experience there.

Pretty much all of my bluetooth headphones or speakers whether

Thanks Robert for this information. The Echo dot was never intended for music,
unless you have the model that can connect to an external speaker.
The full sized Echo and Echo Show are supposed to have pretty good sound, but I
suspect nothing near the Sonos or Homepod quality.

Hi,

You can link the HomePod with the HomePod mini to play the same music in
different rooms. You cannot create a stereo pair using a regular HomePod and a
HomePod Mini. You have to have two of the same type of Homepods to create a
stereo pair.

I use my HomePods to primarily play Apple Music, Podcasts and online radio
stations. While Siri can occasionally get cranky about a particular radio
station, I really don’t have much trouble.

I don’t have any experience with Google music so can’t say whether there is a
lot more there. I will say that it is very rare that I can’t find what I want
to hear on Apple Music.

I had an Echo Dot for a little while but decided that I really don’t trust
Amazon the way I do Apple so I got rid of the Dot. The Dot did not sound
anywhere near as good as either the HomePod or the HomePod Mini. It is
definitely not designed for delivering quality music.

All of this is pretty subjective and you have to figure out what you want to
listen to and try to find out which of the streaming services and smart
speakers deliver the most of what you want.

I personally have found that the Apple service and devices meet my needs really
well. I have the complete Sonos system. Two Play 5 speakers, the TV Soundbar
and the large Sub. It sounds really good but the HomePods in a stereo pair give
the Sonos a run for its money. At least to my ears. If the HomePods had been
available at the time, I would have felt no need to purchase a Sonos system.

the Sonos a run for its money. At least to my ears. If the HomePods had been
available at the time, I would have felt no need to purchase a Sonos system.

Re: Opinions on HomePod mini?

2020-11-28 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
You could play your music apps and bard mobile through any good
sounding bluetooth speaker. I just actually got this $30 bluetooth
speaker that sounds better then I expected and things like youtube
muisic, pandora, or bard mobile sound really good. There are loads of
bluetooth speakers out there. It just depends on how much you want to
spend on them. I've gotten some speakers in the $60 range that are
quite good. I'd actually like to sell a couple of my speakers. Good
luck in finding which option is best for you.

 Hi Traci and List,

I want to use Siri as my digital assistant. So, the HomePods are

 a
Sonos system. To my ears, the HomePods sound fantastic and they can all
 be
very easily controlled with Siri. You can have music playing in one
 room,
all rooms or only the rooms that you choose.

I should also mention that I subscribe to Apple Music. So controlling
 the
HomePods with my voice is much easier and more seamless than trying to
control the Sonos through its app. Don’t get me wrong, the Sonos sounds
great and is easy to use. It just isn’t as easy as the HomePods are.
Again, the HomePods are especially great if you are all in with Apple
devices and if you subscribe to Apple Music.
