Hello Tom,

The problem with Amazon Prime, in my opinion, is that you have to continue to
subscribe to Prime in order to have access to the content.

One television show that I cannot purchase from iTunes is the old "One Step
Beyond" series. It is available with a Prime membership.

According to what I see on my Apple TV, I have the option of buying the show,
out right. However, I have not yet explored this option as I want to be
absolutely certain that should I no longer subscribe to Prime, all of my
purchases will remain valid and accessible.

FYI, If you just want to watch it, the whole series is on Amazon Prime.

I have always found, my self, when wanting to purchase all of Dallas, that you
had to get a season at a time.
I would rather get it all at once. This is of course means I possibly missed
something, but I really want it all, I am not even sure I can get it all at
once in Amazon either.

Subject: Just an Observation about Buying TV Shows from the iTunes Store

Hello All,

I have noticed, for quite some time now, that in some instances, the television
shows that are available for purchase depends upon which OS one uses to browse
the offerings.

In many cases, the newer versions of iOS and TV OS offer less choices.

For example, and this is just off the top of my head, I was interested in
purchasing the entire original series of Dallas.

When I searched for the package on the latest version of TV OS, all I could
find was the option to buy each season, separately. The same was true for Star
Trek, The Next Generation.

However, when I searched for these two shows on my 8 Plus, running iOS 13.7, I
found that I could purchase the entire series of both television shows for a
fraction of the cost of obtaining them, season by season.

I have been meaning to post this observation to the list for over 6 months but,
some how, I thought all of the platforms would even out; as yet, that has not
been the case.

I can find many more television shows, sold as complete series in iOS 13.7 than
I can on iPad OS 14.x or the latest version of TV OS.

Just so you know, once you purchase the complete series, it is added to your
account so you can enjoy it on all of the Apple OS platforms.

Just something I strongly suggest you keep in mind the next time you are
interested in purchasing a complete series of a television show.

Mark

It shouldn't matter,

2021-02-14 Thread chalt...@outlook.com
Sure, place your Airpod Pro's in their case. Open the case without taking out
the Airpod Pro's. Hold the round button in for about ten seconds to place them
in pairing mode.

Now, on your Android phone, go into Settings -> Connectivity -> Bluetooth and
look for your Airpod Pro's. You may need to double tap on the scan button at
the top before they'll show up.

RE: M4B Files

2021-02-14 Thread Alan Lemly
The below came from this site:

https://fileinfo.com/extension/m4b

What is an M4B file?

An M4B file is an audiobook most often used by Apple iTunes and Apple Books. It
contains audio that is stored in the MPEG-4 format and compressed using AAC
encoding. M4B files are nearly identical to .M4A files except that they support
book-related features, such as chapter breaks and bookmarking.

I don't have any m4b files to test whether they will play in Voice Dream
Reader. If they are protected with DRM, they certainly won't play in Voice
Dream.

I have no idea if this will work or not, but it is what I would try. Tap each
item in your cart that you wish to remove, and see if remove becomes an option.

I have been doing this now for around 18 years quite happily.

My personal preference because of its speed is Astrill, but NordVPN and

Hi Joseph and all,

Joseph, have you tried resesting your airPod pros by pressing and holding the
little button on the back of the Case for about 10 seconds or so? This should
bring them back to pairing mode. Don't know if you have tried that or not.
Also, I tried a third-party cable and no go.

Re: AT suspending service to number when inserting SIM card into older phone

2021-02-14 Thread Vicky Collins
I'm replying to my own message here. Today I finally got brave enough to insert
my SIM card into my Nokia 6 once again, seeing as was indicated from the chat
with the AT rep below I was finally told I could indeed use that phone.
However, once again I got that upgrade message from AT, the SIM wouldn't work
in my Nokia 6, and the SIM no longer worked when I put it back in my iPhone 7.

The rep did once again reactivate that phone number and once again said there
would be no charge to do it. She also suggested that getting a new SIM card
would allow me to use the Nokia 6. When I asked her what would be the
difference with the card, she only said it would allow me to use the Nokia.
Although I have my doubts about that, especially seeing as I only got this SIM
a year and a half ago when I got the second line, I did say okay to sending the
SIM card anyway. In fact, I suggested sending a new card for each of my
numbers, which she said she would do at no charge to me.

So I guess we'll see what happens and whether I actually get brave enough to
try and activate the new cards and switch them from my iPhones to the Nokia to
do the iCloud backups. I may just leave well enough alone or possibly look for
a more up-to-date phone with which to do my iCloud backups.

Only the specialized cable from Apple will work for connecting AirPods Max with
3.5 mm jack.

I love these things. They fit my ears really well, and though they feel
heavy at first, once they are on my head, they fit wonderfully. I also do not
see why you could not use them outdoors. The ear cups are not water proof, but
the outside of them is made with illuminum. I think they are cool, but again
you have to be looking at the price as well to see if they will fit

You can get a cable from apple to wire your victor readers and that with
them. It does not come with it though. It should if you ask me.

How can I empty my whole foods cart on the amazon app?

2021-02-14 Thread Kimber Gardner
Hi,

Hoping someone here can help because google is giving me nothing
remotely helpful.

I have several items in my whole foods cart which I would like to
delete. Can anyone explain how to accomplish this with VO running? All
the instructions I get from googling tell me click the pictures and
blah blah blah, which is not helpful.

Thanks,
Kim

Removing apps from the app switcher [was "RE: 2 separate questions regarding Voicedream"]

2021-02-14 Thread chalt...@outlook.com
I'm probably one of those where people think I discourage removing things from
the app switcher, but this isn't exactly true. If you're having trouble with
your iPhone, removing apps from the app switcher is absolutely something you
should do. There's also nothing wrong with removing apps from the app switcher
other than just making things a bit more inconvenient for yourself, so if this
is something you want to do then by all means go ahead. My only point is that
IOS has a lot of memory management code built into the operating system, so
take advantage of it. Don't try to out smart IOS by constantly removing an app
as soon as your finished with it. This will make things a bit more inconvenient
for you and may use up a bit more battery if you're constantly opening and
closing the same app. For my part, I do periodically go in and clean out my app
switcher, even if I'm not having any issues with my phone. I'll also close down
an app if it's one I just use very infrequently, like Venmo, Safari, Outlook,
... For apps that I use pretty much every day, like BARD, Messages, Netflix or
Prime, Bible, Kindle, ..., then I'll just leave these running until I feel the
need to do some house cleaning.

Maybe this will help Joshua,
Open the filter for folders, and select all folders, then double tap the add
button and you can create your own folder.
Remember, there is only ever one copy of a book but it can be listed in
multiple places like all folders, unread, no folder, or a custom folder.

Joshua,
Have you explored the sort feature at the bottom of your folders?
I tend to use the manual sort if things are not in the order I want, like for
our book group, I load the books into that folder and then rearrange them
according to the order we will be reading in.
If a book series was properly formatted so that the titles would be in order,
the sort by title function might help.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm saving up for a new iPhone with more
space, because my 256 gig iPhone is almost completely full of mostly bard
books. I only wish that when you put files into voice dream reader, that it
would handle files numerically instead of most recently imported. If I want to
listen to say a graphic audio series, in proper order, I have to import my
books backwards, so they will be in proper order. It is rather annoying. I
don't have surround sound, but I've got bluetooth speakers from small to large,
and I can get some pretty nice sound from them. My bookshare books sound very
nice, and also any audio files I pop into voice dream reader via iTunes.

it is a lightning to 3.5 mm cable. As far as i know, it does not come with the

What sort of cable is used to connect via wire to a Victor device? This could
go further to convince me they are worth the price.

I love these things. They fit my ears really well, and though they feel heavy
at first, once they are on my head, they fit wonderfully. I also do not see why
you could not use them outdoors. The ear cups are not water proof, but the
outside of them is made with illuminum. I think they are cool, but again you
have to be looking at the price as well to see if they will fit comfortably.
You can get a cable from apple to wire your victor readers and that with them.
It does not come with it though. It should if you ask me.
